Knucklehead and a horrible waste of a number 4 overall draft pick in a QB heavy draft, but he ran through the Bills like Swiss cheese last year (before getting ejected) and he’s far better than anything we’ve got. well, I think every RB ran through our D like swiss cheese last year. I think he will flame out wherever he goes, his YPC average is pathetic for someone built like him, but he'd be worth a cheap flyer. If he stinks, cut him. I'm still drafting Sanders or Love if available.

So knowing that I question why give up assets, for a player that have already proven to not move that needle. If he will bring what a majority of RBs in this draft will bring, why not go for a RB that better fits what we are looking for, (a back that can help in the passing game) in the draft, have less miles on those tires, and less headaches and be cost controlled longer I agree we should not give up real assets for Fournette, but IMO, he's far better than what we could probably get late in the draft. He had a rough year last year on a bad team with a bad QB, but he's still only 2 years removed from being the fourth overall pick in the draft. He's a big, fast downhill runner, which is exactly what we need. And of course signing Fournette certainly doesn't prevent you from drafting a RB, too--something the Bills should have done last year. 1
rayray808 Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Yes, throw out a low offer and if they take it - we win

You can argue all you want but getting a 24yo stud on the cheap is worth the risk. Explain the Stud. I see a Run of the Mill AVG RB, and the numbers confirm that. He gets 3.9 a carry color me impressed. Offers Nothing out of the backfield I am sorry I see AVG. Looks like a 6th round plodder to me so Yep AVG. Doesn't even move the needle for the team without him they are the EXACT SAME But all that said my offer to the jags is a 2022 conditional 7th Edited April 12, 2019 by MAJBobby
Nester Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 The guy who got into a fist fight with us last year. No thanks.
Logic Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 If Fournette can't cut it on the Jags, where they routinely excuse misbehavior and law-breaking and poor character, then what makes anyone think he'd be able to hang around on McDermott's high character "process" Buffalo Bills?

I am not naïve to that either, but I just don't see the value in a RB that also doesn't help the QB (either with Blocking or out of the backfield.) The reason he faced more 8 man fronts is he ONLY offers running, there is limited to no ability from him in the passing game. So when he is on the field your Offense also becomes limited. and why the Jags offense was just as efficient with him off the field in terms of PPG. Great point about facing more 8-man fronts that most others because his presence in the lineup is a tip-off to the run. As a short-yardage specialist he would have value, but I'm sure he still sees himself as a feature back. Beyond that he seems to have injury problems, seeing as how he's missed 1/3 of his games and is an idiot, which is why they're looking to move on from him. 1

Offers nothing out of the backfield? Please. He's a grinding power back who consistently gets you what you need in short yardage situations. He's a beast. If he can be had cheap it's more than worth the risk.

Nope how is his receiving out of the backfield? (hence offers NOTHING out of the Backfield) so he runs. And does it at a 3.9 YPC clip. Yeldon was the better back. Their I said it. His rookie year he caught 36 balls for 302 yards. That's a little less than what Shady has averaged for his career. 1

Since you like stats so much He has 58 receptions for 487 yards and an 8.4 yards per reception in 21 games Rookie year he was 36 for 302 with an 8.4 per catch and 2.8 receptions per game in 13 games McCoy in each of the last 3 seasons 2016 : 50 for 356 and a 7.1 per catch and 3.3 rec per game 2017 : 59 for 448, a 7.6 avg and 3.3 per game 2018 : 34 for 238 with a 7.0 avg and 2.4 per game I guess he can't catch at all though!?
