BREAKING NEWS:

The Grand Jury was called off today, after U.S. Attorney Durham tragically committed suicide by hanging himself, after shooting himself in the back of the head multiple times, after a botched home invasion where nothing was taken. The rope and gun used to commit suicide were oddly missing from the scene. The case was quickly ruled a suicide and permanently closed by the coroner, who promptly retired to a country without an extradition treaty. Witnesses say he boarded the plane carrying a suitcase full of cash marked "for Haiti".

There will be no further press coverage of this tragic suicide.

JOHN DURHAM: THE LAST TRUSTED PROSECUTOR IN WASHINGTON.

From all this, we can surmise a few things about Durham’s ongoing investigation into the launch of the probe of Donald Trump and his potential connections to Russia during the 2016 campaign. Durham will not speak to the press at all until he is done, and probably not even then. He and his team are extremely unlikely to leak. He is not afraid to reach conclusions that will disappoint or frustrate Attorney General Barr or President Trump. He will not be rushed; there is no guarantee that Durham will reach any prosecutorial decisions before the 2020 elections. And he will investigate so extensively and thoroughly that no reasonable observer will be able to argue that something important was missed.

As Sullivan describes Durham, “He will be in constant pursuit of the truth and the facts and the evidence. John doesn’t take days off. He is methodical, but he is always working.”

If Durham chooses to bring charges against any official who launched the Trump probe, history suggests he is extremely likely to persuade a jury to convict the accused and sustain those convictions upon appeal.

And if he does not bring charges, it is extremely unlikely that any other prosecutor could have succeeded; regardless of what the official did, the evidence would not be there to convict or sustain a conviction.

John Durham’s career is full of big, high-stakes, politically charged cases, but this one is the biggest, highest-stakes, and most politically charged of all. Luckily, it seems like his whole life has prepared him for this moment.

Read the whole thing.

Translation:

Beardy guy is just another joker in a long line.  No guarantee that anything will be done before an election that is a YEAR away?  I've got news for you Beardy, if that election goes to a dem, it won't take them a year to shut down your investigation.  It'll be FAR faster than Goodell burning the Cheatriots tapes.

One thing is sort of right in the last paragraph.  His whole life has prepared him for this "moment".  Like many others, he appears adept at turning a moment into a year, and doing nothing except building plausible excuses for why he didn't do anything.  In no endeavor other than government could something so systemically important have an infinite timeline for resolution.  In the real world, he would be fired for needing a year to do anything.  Boiled down, his task is relatively straightforward and in theory, although probably a lie, he has limitless resources.  Like Horowitz, he has no intention of doing anything ever.
