Jay_Fixit Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Definitely a Dolphins employee. They know what a plan is all about. A well oiled machine of an organization.
Magox Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) The criticism of Nsekhe seems very off-base. I don't have a problem with people who disagree with some of my conclusions but the reasoning to has to have some basis. He pretty much believes that Nsekhe is a garbage 33 year old player, therefore $5 Million a year for him is a stupid decision. I suppose Nsekhe's very impressive body of work over the past 2 years and his dominant performance over one of the premier defensive players in Clowney was a fluke. There is no other way to slice it than come up with that conclusion. I vehemently disagree with the notion that a player can have over 400 snaps last year and 300 the year before with a very high grade is a fluke. A fluke is something that happens a handfull of times. Or maybe a game or two when the opponent either was not at 100% or a weaker opponent. But this wasn't the case. And even if Nsekhe doesn't pan out, I don't believe anyone honestly believes that Buffalo believes he is the long-term solution. He is a guy that if he happens to play a good 2-3 years of football similar to what he did the past 2 years that would end up being an incredible bargain at just $ 5 million a year. And if he doesn't work out well, then they can cut him next year with a low dead cap hit of $1.5 Million. I am 99% sure that signing Nsekhe means that they are going to close the door on drafting a Tackle. These signings that the Bills have made basically allowed them to not have as an immediate need for 2019 at the position but won't prevent them from looking for the long-term answer. That's not to say they will draft a tackle but the Nsekhe signing just makes the position more stable. The Kevin Johnson signing is another one where this guy simply doesn't get it. It's not as if the Bills have put lots of guaranteed money on the line. Johnson showed early in his career that he is able to play a good level and he does have 1st round pedigree talent. Yes, he's been injured and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he flames out. And if he doesn't work out they can cut him next year with no ramifications. It's not as if the Bills are up against the cap this year, they had the money to take a flyer on him. If this guy lives up to his potential then it ends up being a phenomenal signing. And it's clear that he doesn't like "little" receivers. Does he not understand the concept of speed and creating separation? Again, this is another case that he doesn't like the players. He must believe that Beasley is an overrated slot receiver. And who is to say the Bills won't draft a WR. I firmly believe that they will draft one this year. Brown is a potentially a keeper but he may not end up being a fit for this team. I believe Beane feels the same way. Zay is a player that I don't believe they are 100% sold on. Foster I'm willing to bet they are excited about but again, not 100% sure whether or not they believe he can improve from last year. Out of all the WR's, Beasley is probably the one they feel most solid about. What receivers did he want them to go after? Did he believe Tyrell Williams at $11 Million a year was the better decision for them? Maybe, maybe not. Aside from him, what other options were there? It's not that I disagree with the conclusion, it's his thought process in how got to it that doesn't make any sense. Edited April 5, 2019 by Magox 1
MAJBobby Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Plan is easy to see. Fill immediate holes with experience and non cap killing one to two year deals. Adding legit Competition. Opening up the Draft to take best football players regardless of position.
T master Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Boy i feel bad for who ever this guy works for because to say Beane has no plan is just pure foolishness !! Beane in 2 seasons has gotten rid of all of the bad contracts by the previous regime completely rebuilt the O line which at this point is yet to be seen if it will be for better or worse but i for one can'r see how it could be worse, plus the additions of the FA's in the WR corp . Then there is his draft history to get 2 first round picks which in their rookie seasons showed very well & if Beane does half as good this year in the draft there will be even more rookies that will be fixtures in B/lo for a while . So for this ass hat to say that Beane has no plan is ludicrous & if the team that he works for knows who this guy might be i would send him out of town on the next train because when it comes to doing a team the right way & having a good plan in place this guy doesn't have a clue 1 !

Guess those immaculate predictions will keep coming.? The Bills signed a bunch of players. How this translates to being an "accomplishment" is yet to be determined. They obviously have a plan.... Iike the GMs and coaches before them. Fill holes in FA with one or two year place holders and use the draft to get playmakers and eventually overtake those place holders. Whether that plan works or not is the question. Dude. Optimism does not equal “predictions.” And while we’re on the subject, remember when you bemoaned the Bills’ loss of the great Mike Gillislie and predicted Shady would be gone by now? Good times. 3
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Oakland??? Mike Mayock? What other GM is that clueless??
MJS Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 How do you not see a plan? Clearly the plan is to rebuild the oline and add weapons for Josh Allen. That's clear as freakin day.

Feel free to question whether the signings are good ones, but to say there is no plan? This sounds like the ramblings of somebody who may be a bit envious of how much the Bills were able to accomplish in FA. Please don't give this Talbot and his site any play. All his does is regurgitate other sites content, in this case ESPN, and make money off of clicks. I haven't seen one original piece of news he's ever broken. Just a fan that has found a way to make money from his basement off of our love for Bills news.

Heitz Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 The original subject headline was more accurate. It was definitely written one of about 5 TBD posters... ?

timekills17 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Dangit @ScottLaw quit hacking into other NFL teams' accounts and making quotes like you're an exec. 3
transient Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 NFL executive? No GM is gonna say this. I’m guessing the author either bumped into Mark Davis when he was in line to buy his next designer sweat suit or Jerruh when he was drunk in an elevator with an escort.
whatdrought Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 (edited) Didn’t know Bruce Allen paid such close attention to the Bills... irs also possible that this is sour grapes from Buddy, who just woke up. 22 minutes ago, Over 29 years of fanhood said: Did someone wake up Buddy Nix? There is more than enough tape on Nsekhe over the last three years to evaluate him. Also, not a lot of wear and tear for a 33 year old. IMO, it may turn out to be one of their better FA signings and he will surprise a lot of people.

Yes. These signing are just stopgaps. They only signed one proven, solid starting OL and they were weak at all five positions last season. Bringing in half a dozen backups in the hopes that one or two might stand out is not a complete solution. In particular, they need to find a good OT in rounds 1 or 2. 1
