BringMetheHeadofLeonLett Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Don't really like any of this. Didn't notice football until HS, didn't pay attention once he got to college. Full of regrets and milkshakes. I'd pass 1

Can he get a little bigger and a lot stronger? He’s fast at 4.53! I don’t know much about him, but I’ll trust our FO if he’s the pick. Hopefully after the trade back that gives us a second Pro Bowler. ?
Kirby Jackson Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 I could see Burns. The Bills want pass rush. His bend and explosiveness make him a viable option. 1

If Ed Oliver was on the board when our pick came up he would more likely be the pick. As much as there is a demand for a pass rusher at the end position it is even more challenging to find an interior pass rusher. There are few players that have that inside ability. 1

I agree, McDermott spoke about how he felt an interior rush being more potent than a rush off the edge, and it being harder to neutralize.

Hughes isn't the prototypical size they look for at DE but they were forced into it and it's worked out great. The front 4 has to get home. I'm not expecting it either but If they draft Burns I'll be ecstatic. With all due respect, I don't think that's a fair analogy. Hughes may not be the prototypical DE size but if you compare Brian Burns and Jerry Hughes side by side, Hughes has tree trunks for thighs; Brian Burns physique resembles Aaron Maybin. That scares me, at pick #9 or even #40. I'm not paid to evaluate these guys so if McBeane love the guy, go ahead. I see a guy who gets pancaked just like Maybin did at the NFL level.

Kmart128 Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Watching him live. This guy is great. However he fakes injuries all the time to slow no huddle offenses. I don't want someone like that on our team.

I'm sure he did, but look at the drafts he conducted. Not one star player in 4 years. Outside of Woods you can argue he never even hit a top 20 positional player. And most of his picks aren't even in the league. How many got second contracts. Thats horrible compared to Beaner's drafts. If this is what relentless on the road gets you, then he should have stayed home. 2016 1 Shaq Lawson 19 DE 2018 0 0 1 9 35 10.0 Clemson 2016 2 Reggie Ragland 41 ILB 2018 0 0 1 11 28 1 0.5 Alabama 2016 3 Adolphus Washington 80 DT 2018 0 0 1 9 35 4.5 Ohio St. 2016 4 Cardale Jones 139 QB 2016 0 0 0 0 1 6 11 96 0 1 1 -1 0 Ohio St. 2016 5 Jonathan Williams 156 RB 2018 0 0 0 1 14 0 1 0 0 0 30 94 1 2 1 0 Arkansas 2016 6 Kolby Listenbee 192 WR 0 0 0 TCU 2016 6 Kevon Seymour 218 CB 2017 0 0 0 3 31 USC Year Rnd Player Pick Pos To AP1 PB St CarAV G Cmp Att Yds TD Int Att Yds TD Rec Yds TD Int Sk College/Univ 2015 2 Ronald Darby 50 CB 2018 0 0 3 16 46 6 Florida St. 2015 3 John Miller 81 G 2018 0 0 3 19 47 Louisville 2015 5 Karlos Williams 155 RB 2015 0 0 0 4 11 93 517 7 11 96 2 Florida St. 2015 6 Tony Steward 188 OLB 2015 0 0 0 1 7 Clemson 2015 6 Nick O'Leary 194 TE 2018 0 0 0 5 47 40 559 3 Florida St. 2015 7 Dezmin Lewis 234 WR 2016 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 Central Arkansas Year Rnd Player Pick Pos To AP1 PB St CarAV G Cmp Att Yds TD Int Att Yds TD Rec Yds TD Int Sk College/Univ 2014 1 Sammy Watkins 4 WR 2018 0 0 5 30 62 8 61 0 232 3571 28 Clemson 2014 2 Cyrus Kouandjio 44 T 2018 0 0 0 7 30 Alabama 2014 3 Preston Brown 73 LB 2018 0 0 4 31 71 5 1.0 Louisville 2014 4 Ross Cockrell 109 DB 2017 0 0 1 14 54 5 Duke 2014 5 Cyril Richardson 153 G 2014 0 0 0 2 12 Baylor 2014 7 Randell Johnson 221 LB 2016 0 0 0 2 16 Florida Atlantic 2014 7 Seantrel Henderson 237 OL 2018 0 0 2 14 35 Miami (FL) Year Rnd Player Pick Pos To AP1 PB St CarAV G Cmp Att Yds TD Int Att Yds TD Rec Yds TD Int Sk College/Univ 2013 1 EJ Manuel 16 QB 2017 0 0 1 10 30 343 590 3767 20 16 96 339 4 Florida St. 2013 2 Robert Woods 41 WR 2018 0 0 6 38 85 25 191 1 345 4451 23 USC 2013 2 Kiko Alonso 46 LB 2018 0 0 4 30 73 10 3.0 Oregon 2013 3 Marquise Goodwin 78 WR 2018 0 0 3 16 66 14 74 0 128 2137 12 Texas 2013 4 Duke Williams 105 DB 2016 0 0 0 8 58 1 1.0 Nevada 2013 5 Jonathan Meeks 143 DB 2016 0 0 0 2 38 Clemson 2013 6 Dustin Hopkins 177 K 2018 0 0 4 11 55 Florida St. 2013 7 Chris Gragg 222 TE 2015 0 0 0 1 32 24 251 2 Arkansas For the 2013 draft, Whaley was the assistant general manager. That's a Nix draft. Whaley undoubtedly helped and had a major effect. And he was clearly on board with Manuel, as he'd been charged by Nix with leading a committee to choose a QB. And more telling is that he never backed away from Manuel through the years. He kept trying to get him another chance and he never started with the "Well, I wasn't in charge at that point," stuff, for which I admire him. But he took over as GM after the draft that year.
