Steve Billieve Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Lets not forget long snapper. Letting Garrison Sanborn leave town for Tampa was one of the great mistakes of this regime. There's just no excuse for letting a proven 7 year starter get away is just inexcusable. I mean when other players ***** up it's almost never worse than a change of possession but when you're long snapper ***** up that's 7 points for the other team.

You know who you are. So what do the Bills do in the draft, in particular in the first three rounds where they’re the likeliest to land starters for the immediate season? There is one (and only one) school of thought: Beane must improve the worst ST in the league last season by drafting a gunner, a two-man wedge specialist, and a punter during the first three rounds of the draft. You may debate whether Beane should go punter first or not -- I think this is a critical position that can pay immediate dividends in field position since the offense has not been adequately addressed and we can expect to see a plethora of 3-and-outs. So if we go punter in the first, that leaves gunner and wedge specialist for rounds two and three. My analysis of the draft pool leads me to believe Beane will be able to find immediate impact players in both areas. Any punter worth drafting in the first round needs to have the versatility to run wedge specialist too. It’s just a fact.
fansince88 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 @eball, thanks bud. Finally a Draft Strategy: Beane Absolutely Must Draft Around, post I can get behind! You are a beast! 1
Boca BIlls Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Sorry but this isn't long enough for me to read. 1
WotAGuy Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I’m confused. Is our strategy to draft Pro Bowl special teamers, or are we looking for players with some type of ceiling with an 80% chance of being in the top 5%?

Until they sign him, they will never sniff the playoffs. PS This thread is 2 days too late!

It is also important that the players he drafts have experience playing college football.? 14 hours ago, cage said: If he follows your thinking then he should be able to get the best player available at each of those positions of need... You have to keep drafting a punter every year even if you already have one. Just in case your punter turns out to be a bust. If he isnt a bust then you have good trade bait and could get a couple 1st as a return.
