Kelly the Dog Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 What it all comes down to is that TD, Green, Travis, his agent, and reporters are all lying (or more correctly being disingenuous) and they're all telling the truth (or more correctly, shading the truth for their own gain but not outright lying). When they first spoke, perhaps the Travis for Shelton straight-up trade emerged and both sides were trying to get what they could out of it. One side, like, say, the Cardinals, may say something to the effect of "That is certainly good for both parties but perhaps we want something more than Henry because we'd take him under his current contract but his agent's long term extension demands are too rich for our blood". And the Bills say, "We'll get back to you" This doesn't outright say they do want more, it doesn't dissolve the good chance they might accept a straight up swap, this allows TD to say they never agreed to a player for player trade and want more, this allows Travis' agent to say Travis holding up the trade is 100% erroneous, this allows Travis to say they are willing to trade for me straight up but TD won't do it, this allows the Cards to say anything they want and still be true. This allows the reporters to slant their story anyway they choose.
PromoTheRobot Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 One thing is for sure...TD will not let the press, Travis Henry, or the fans push him into a move. In the end, isn't that what you want? PTR

Dan Gross Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Sadly, there are quite a few that want action, and any kind will do. 292008 Maybe they can trade straight up for a couple of days, then trade back in order to make the final deal. Give the players a chance to acclimate to their possible pending team, and appease those looking for something/anything to happen.
nodnarb Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 if you look at TD's past pre-draft comments, he has consistently told the truth while also stating that nobody ever tells the truth pre-draft. In other words, he understands the game but doesn't participate in it. TD is telling the truth here. Travis' agent is a low-IQ dillhole who is lucky to have Travis as a client and to Travis he's a cheap deal. Travis has no leverage. You can't take a year off, which would essentially be two years off because of his minor playing time last year. You just cant be away from the action that long and expect a big contract. Travis will realize this soon enough. TD will prevail. Again.

His dipwad agent tells him to go fishing and he ends in 2006 still under contract with the Bills for 1 more year.
/dev/null Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 "Dillhole" 292183 heheheh, he's a fart knocker

Currently, TH is a specator to the events happening in the theater...Only Green and TD are playing. Whoever blinks first will give the other a good deal.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 I for one am sick of all this TRADE talk ...screw the cardinals...Fatboy Denny..and move on. let Travis pout and look for another option at L.T. It`s not like the world will stop turning over losing Shelton..
VABills Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 "Dillhole" 292183 Yeah the Dillhole and his pet rock.
