IgotBILLStopay Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) We do need a defensive end. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26415157/source-browns-ogbah-no-shows-expects-trade 1.35 mill - so very reasonable salary and that too is not guaranteed. Natural fit for a 4-3 defense - can line up at either end - he is quick enough to handle left tackles and large enough to hold right tackles at bay. Only problem is that he is a bit inconsistent. I think a 5th or lower draft pick should do it - will be a Ragland like trade. Also what about Duke Johnson at RB? He averaged 5 yards an attempt in limited opportunities and is on the outside looking in after the Kareem hunt signing. Our Rb situation (with the oldies) is quite attractive to people looking for playing time. Edited April 1, 2019 by IgotBILLStopay
JoshAllenHasBigHands Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Is he honestly any better than Shaq, Trent or Hughes? Maybe he is a bit more talented, though untapped. Wouldn't we be better off just drafting a guy rather than throwing the pics away. 1

And I think he is a better pass rusher than Lawson but has a poorer motor. That is why he is inconsistent. But in a contract year, he will be plenty motivated. Edited April 1, 2019 by IgotBILLStopay
RyanC883 Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Duke Johnson a no show is interesting. I can see him being traded. Buffalo unlikely. I see some team giving a 3rd or higher for him.
ghostwriter Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I'd absolutely trade for Ogbah. Yeah, buddy. Think a 4th would do it?
Rc2catch Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I would send a 3rd and 5th and ask for both please. They both fit in nicely for what this team needs.
Chuck Wagon Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 (edited) There's very high expectations and a lot of personalities in that locker room for a 1st time head coach.... Edited April 1, 2019 by Chuck Wagon

CommonCents Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Reminds me of Shaq, just not quick enough off the snap to be anything but a JAG. He will probably have a healthier and more productive season than Murphy though. 1

NewEra Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Why the Duke Johnson love affair? I’d take him off their hands if they wanted to give US a draft pick. 3 mill, 5 mill 6 mill cap hits. He’s a decent player but he’s a RB that’s getting paid. Not thanks. i wasn’t an ogbah guy when he was available. Glad we didn’t draft him then. Low upside imo. Similar to what we have. If give up a 6th most Good. 2 1

Spags will be switching them to 4-3. Ragland likely out of a job again as poor fit in 4-3 at MLB and Jones is likely 3T DT. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2019/01/25/chiefs-defense-new-look-under-defensive-coordinator-steve-spagnuolo/ On passing downs Jones rushed from interior spot as DT in old Chiefs D. I realize they are switching defense and my point was that Ogbah's acquisition doesn't factor in to the decision as to where they play Jones in the defense. 1
PIZ Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Duke Johnson is the guy we should want. Hope they get him.

Perhaps they might pursue another. Last week, the Eagles acquired Jordan Howard from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2020 conditional sixth-round pick. It didn’t come entirely as a surprise, as the Eagles had been tied to two running backs in particular in the trade market since the official start of the offseason in March. Taking all of that into consideration, here’s one swap involving Johnson that I think makes some sense. Eagles get: RB Duke Johnson, Browns 2019 fifth-round pick (No. 170) Browns get: RB Corey Clement, Eagles’ 2019 fifth-round pick (No. 163) and a 2020 seventh-round pick (via Buccaneers) https://www.nj.com/eagles/2019/04/nfl-trade-rumors-heres-an-eagles-trade-for-browns-duke-johnson-that-makes-some-sense.html Edited April 1, 2019 by OldTimeAFLGuy
