Can’t believe that one one caught this a few days ago.  I check my podcast feed and notice that what used to be “The Bucky and Sully Show,” is now listed as “The Jerry Sullivan Show.”  Interesting.

So I checked Twitter and came across this:

I also listened to the last episode of The Bucky and Sully Show.  First the audio quality was terrible.  I think it was a remote connection but it sounded like they had cheap headsets and a bad connection.  It sucked.

Anyway, Bucky quietly announced that he was leaving the show.  He said he worked in journalism for 30 years and there were a lot of things he didn’t like about the industry anymore.  He said he is interested in starting a new career with Catholic Health and would be more bummed if he wasn’t so excited for the new opportunity.

I know many of you didn’t care for Bucky, but he always told it like it was - even when he said things we as Bills fans didn’t want to hear.

Id like to congratulate Bucky and wish him the best in his new career.

And by the way...Jerry Sullivan is back.  The BN can’t dixtate when he retires!  He is with the Niagara Gazette!

I didn't care for them as writers but I thought he and Sully made good radio. They were funny, they got much better guests than WGR, and they never did food drafts.

Now they still reverted to form once in a while being negatives tools but the good outweighed the bad.

I wonder if they will try to pair Sully with someone? Speaking of, he just started a column in the Niagara Gazette.

Good question.... I don’t know about a cohost for Sully.  Maybe if the workload gets too tough for him.  I know that 1270 AM probably pays very little, so I don’t know who they could bring in.  There is someone names Jonah Bronstein who I believe is a freelance writer for the Buffalo News and also helps out with the Tim Graham Show.  I could see him join the show to help out Sully

Wonder how he got the job, and if his references were just 'People of WNY and surrounding areas'

Everyone one they turned and asked "So if he gets this job he will leave being a "journalist" and the radio? He is a great guy and would be a huge assett to your company doing whatever it is you do...."

Its a PR position for a hospital and whether you agree with his opinion, he knows how to write and has worked in the media field for 30 years.  Its not exactly the most surprising career pivot

I’m guessing the deal that was too good to pass up was that Catholic Health communications supplied the crayons and agreed to clean the walls when Bucky got overzealous with his “writing.”

I take umbrage at the idea that Bucky actually knows how to write. Maybe in the most simplistic terms insofar as he understands that a pencil in his hand leaves marks on a paper, but not in any meaningful way that a 10th grade English teacher would suggest he pursue a career as a writer. As much as I hate Sullivan he at least knows his way around the English language. Gleason, not so much.

Don't care, don't listen. Stopped reading both a long time ago.

Thanks for the comment!

Interesting that Sully is now with the Niagara Gazette.

Will he continue with some type of radio show?

I used to love his segments with Schopp and the Bulldog.  Then one day that all stopped and no one mentioned a word about it at WGR-550.

I actually searched for Sullivan's 'new' website the other day because I wanted to see what his thoughts were on FA but realised the last article posted on there was late last year. I guess that little venture fell on its ass pretty quick
