dave mcbride Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Wow - 10 surgeries on the same knee. I liked him as a player too. This is why players try to get longer deals, and we as fans need to keep that in mind. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/03/23/former-patriots-receiver-malcolm-mitchell-retires/
Beast Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Honestly, I don’t even remember the guy. I guess Miyagi Belichick couldn’t heal his knee. 1 1

The veteran minimum blows away what most of us earn in 10-15 years of work. There might be a greater risk of injury but the teams take care of most medical bills and that's not cheap either. 1 1
KD in CA Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Never heard of him. Hope he took advantage of his opportunities and earned a useful degree.

KellyToTasker Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 5 minutes ago, Doc said: Help them win a Super Bowl? Seriously? Sure, he was on the roster, and had 6 receptions for 70 yards in their comeback win.

Not exactly a huge disappointment. That kind of “glass half full” thinking is really nice. The counter argument is that he only played 14 games in the NFL, and that the team (and fan base) had pretty big expectations for him which really never materialized because of injury. I would certainly classify a 14 game NFL as “disappointing.” 12 minutes ago, Doc said: Help them win a Super Bowl? Seriously? Exactly....

They hoped he would work out with a 4th round pick. Disappointing, sure. Yes, I'm with you. A "huge" disappointment with the amount invested and injury history, no. Which is what I said....Not exactly a huge disappointment.

That locker room is going to be in shambles with Malcom 'in the middle' Mitchell retiring. This could be one of Belichecks greatest achievements if he's able to keep morale high

NoHuddleKelly12 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Debating the overall level of career suckiness or really really career suckiness of a soon to be consigned to the dustbin of NFL history former Pats player makes me want to formally say that I can’t wait for the 2019 season to start. That is all.
whatdrought Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Anyone who is a football fan remembers this guys catch from when he was at Marshall.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 He is a great kid. I read a book that detailed his High School footballs team in Georgia. Knees were shot. Too bad. I don’t like the Pats but this kid was someone who personality wise deserved a better chance. Good luck and I know you will be successful at life Malcolm! 1
