Chemistry among offensive linemen is very important.  I don't know enough about these guys.  I think Allen plays a large part in building the chemistry.  I trust it will come and comes quickly.

I often wonder how true that is. Lots of cliches like "need time to gel". It makes sense but I really do wonder how critical it is. I think the center and QB making the correct line adjustments is the most important issue after sheer talent, followed by simply staying healthy. If they communicate well and Daboll doesn't make the assignments too difficult to understand they will be fine. All the projected starters have lots of game experience.

I think Josh Allen would be lost back there if he finally got good protection.

I think he'd like to find out.

Hope you are correct. He has been a marginal swing tackle most of his career and is 33. Mills was mostly below average, decent in run game, and putrid at time in pass protection. Just not convinced Nsekhe is much better. Still want to see OT drafted on day 2

Marginal is not the correct word to describe Nsekhe.  Nsekhe has been the best swing tackle in the NFL for at least 2yrs.

You can have good OL without "time to gel", but it certainly only helps. You have it right that QB and Center making the proper call is the first priority. But having a team who knows each others moves without having to even look is always a good thing whether youre talking NFL OL or even in the business world.

Are the Bills just signing up all the OL available in FA?

Its great to see all the additions and they aren't going to tie up salary for years to come with these 1 year contracts.

Great signing. Smart as well.

Now can we finally stop talking about moving Dawkins to LG? This is your starting left guard.

Dawkins-Spain-Morse-??????-Nsekhe

RG will be a huge battle between Teller, Feliciano, Long, Boettger, possible draft pick I think Long wins.

I pencil Nsekhe in at RT, but I think they try to upgrade that spot in the draft. Maybe a guy like McGary.

Jeepers Eps, I do love this signing, but as crazy as this sounds I am looking forward to also seeing what Teller and Boettger have developed into this year.

Is this the greatest line in the NFL?  No.

However, is this one of the very deepest?  Man, I don't know how anyone can say it isn't.

Happy Day!

It feels like we now can find a competent line out of what we've brought in and what little we had left over from last year.  We might even have a GOOD OL!  How delightful!

Now to draft an OT day 2+ and see if he'll develop.

To me this signing adds a little fuel to the “trade up for a (defensive) stud” fire....

Love your Jack Kemp/Wray Carlton avatar!

Me, I’m thinking this may lead us to shock everyone -League and team fan base- and select TJ Hockenson at 9. The clear favorite as best TE in recent years, and a position the Bills have had complete disregard for over 50 years. 9 is early for a TE, but I doubt he’ll be on the board much longer. Beane has shown repeatly he can find veteran gems on the scrap heap, so a pass rushing DT could still be available at a 1-2 year deal.

I havent commented at all on any of the TJ threads, as I just didn’t see the Bills I know doing that. But my mind is changing! A def Day 1 starter who gives Allen another fine target while helping the blocking cause.

Anyway, love the Spain signing -and the parameters, as we can tag him next year worst case, if he Balls out!

Donuts, what a difference one offseason makes. It could be argued, with an entirely straight face, that at least on paper, OL has gone from a glaring team weakness, to one of solid strength good enough to boost a playoff push. Man, what I'd give to be right on that once the games start!

They are certainly playing the odds, right? Figure a few will come up aces.

A trade down AND getting Hock would make me as happy as a little girl.

I do think chemistry is pretty important for the offensive line, Particularly when it comes to handling stunts and blitzes by the defense.  Time has to be be developed for switching off as the situation calls for it.

HERE'S TO STRAIGHT FACES ON PAPER!  Wait, what?

I don't know.  I am just drunk with joy.  I hope and believe you will be right on this one.

The only thing I wish with this signing, was that it was for longer. That said, I also understand the Bills' perspective and his: both want a trial period to see how it goes and if it works out well, I think they both know they'll be paying a higher premium.

But we have him under contract.....that allows us to play him while working out that extension! :)

After last year it's good that the biggest concern after free agency is the line needing time to gel.

TC doesn't offer the same time like in the old days.

I hope this doesn't mean that this team will get off to a painful start because the line hasn't gelled.

I get the feeling Teller is destined for the PS. He wasnt any better than Ducasse or Miller.  Hope Im wrong and he develops nicely. Because he would be a nice cheap backup at a minimum. Feliciano is probably the one most likely to not make the roster of the FA signings unless he can back up at C.

Wyatt Teller would have to pass through waivers to get to the practice squad. A guy who was a 5th rounder with multiple starts and only going into year 2 is not going to be bypassed by 31 other teams with the lack of Oline depth in the NFL. Ike Boettger who the Bills tried to pass up onto the PS was snatched by the Chiefs, only to return on the 53 man roster after the Chiefs cut him.

You have 3 options with Teller Keep him on the 53, Cut him, Trade him. I think 1 and 3 are the most likely one
