billsfanone Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 One thing's for sure!!!! Everyone has their own preference.
R. Rich Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 There are good wings all over Buffalo. I won't single out my favorites. Instead I list my 3 criteria for good wings....1.Wings must be crispy. Rubbery, undercooked wings suck! 2.Serve a decent size wing. Don't give me those little wings that could be mistaken for coming from a sparrow. 3. I want Blue Cheese with my wings!! Not Blue Cheese mixed with mayo! Not ranch dressing! Not any other cheap imitations! Meet these criteria and you will win me over. 22561 Well said, Labatt. Will we be seeing you this weekend at Hammer's Lot?
Sen. John Blutarsky Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 La Nova wings and pizza are fantastic. you must have been there on an off night. the west side La Nova burned down last weekend. Massiello was there on Sat a.m. stating the city will use all resources available to rebuild it. this coming from as guy that does not have 2 Buffalo nickels to rub togther. i thought it was funny. 21787 La Nova burned down! NOOOOO! My aura knew...it was like Star Wars...millions of voices all cried out and then were suddenly silent. RIP La Nova. Thank you for delievering to Canisius High for those wonderful wonderful years. BTW, please DON'T use the city's resources to fix it, we want it to WORK Tony, not to be half assed, you know half assed, not functional... :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
Tom Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I like both Anchor Bar and Duff's wings. I don't think either "blows away" the other. I prefer Anchor's wings over Duff's
LabattBlue Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Well said, Labatt. Will we be seeing you this weekend at Hammer's Lot? 22656 I've got a tailgate with a group at the other end of the stadium. I'll try to make it over, even if it's is for a few minutes.

Fan in San Diego Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 So, I am back today from my vacation to Buffalo, Rochester, Ithaca, and London. I did some sightseeing in Buffalo and was VERY disappointed in Buffalo's tourism. We stopped at the Clarence exit on I-90 and their busy tourism section didn't have ONE MAP of downtown Buffalo or any info about it, only Niagara stuff! I was amazed. The Wilcox Museum was a huge let-down, and nothing was open since it was Monday. Anyways..the one highlight was the Anchor Bar. Everybody has told me how over-rated they are and its a tourist trap. Well, I think you're NUTS! The wings were amazing! They were the biggest wings I've ever seen. The outside was crsipy and the inside was juicy they way they are supposed to be. The sauce was excellent, I had medium and they it was just hot/spicy enough with excellent taste. By far the best batch of wings I've ever had..and yes, I've had Duffs, Ricks, Big Tree, and several other well known wing places. 21724 You should have went to Fort Erie Race Track and Casino. Happy Jacks for Chinese !
BillnutinHouston Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 "The Clarence Information Center is operated by the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation. That's why there's no Buffalo stuff." Is this supposed to be a common sense answer to why there is no Buffalo stuff to be found at the Clarence tourist center? This is a prime example of why WNY can't get out of it's own way. Everybody (Mayor, Common Council, labor unions) is looking only to get their little piece of the pie NOW and nobody has the big picture in mind. Fine, WNY, everybody go after your little scraps of a rapidly shrinking pie. The ship is going down and unfortunately the only thing that will wake people up to take action is when the Bills need to leave town. Then there will be action but it will be too late! If the Bills leave, I will no longer have any emotional connection to WNY and will have to resign myself to being a Southerner. Well, at least I'll have the weather to enjoy if not Bills football.
