John from Riverside Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 With the adding of two vet WR's in free agency Beane doing work 7
Logic Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Agreed. Been saying since LAST season started that this was the model they would follow. Year 1, build a defense. Year 2, identify a QB Year 3, build around QB 6
junior Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Yeah, agreed. I think that's been pretty obvious since last year.
Mark Vader Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I'm loving this. Great job, Mr. Beane! GO BILLS!!! 3

Different QB, and Watkins, for all his ability, was a rookie, and needed time to adjust to the NFL. It's not necessarily an unfair observation, but I feel the circumstances aren't close enough to allow that comparison. 1
FeelingOnYouboty Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Now is there a disgruntled Khalil Mack like trade waiting to happen because that's what put them over the top
Bing Bong Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 We need our Kahlil Mack AKA Justin Houston to take this defense over the top. Spend dat cap boys. Buy/draft OL and WR and make a splash somewhere. Just now, FeelingOnYouboty said: Now is there a disgruntled Khalil Mack like trade waiting to happen because that's what put them over the top maybe not but there is... JUSTIN HOUSTON

The point is that this isn't a groundbreaking idea.

Wo-Bah Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I am cautiously optimistic. We'll certainly look different on offense. I like the John Brown signing.
C.Biscuit97 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Love Beasley but Robinson and Burton are far superior to the guys we signed. That said, draft a guy high in the draft with size and we could be on to something. so does this mean there are no more excuses for Allen? 3 minutes ago, jletha said: We gave up much more moving up for Watkins and signing Clay. switz1610 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) I'm just as much of a homer as anyone but you have to be out of your mind to think that Cole Beasley and John Brown are on the same level as Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel. But, yes, both off-seasons involved signing 2 WRs. Edited March 12, 2019 by switz1610 1 1
fridge Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Quote On March 8, 2018, Goodwin signed a three-year, $20.3 million contract extension with the 49ers that will last through the 2021 season. On March 9, 2017, Woods was signed by the Los Angeles Rams to a five-year, $34 million contract I don't really understand the hype on these WR moves, especially the undue credit being handed to Beane. We could have simply kept Goodwin and Woods for similar terms/money as the money we just gave these two guys who don't have the careers those had. This team will continue to fake fans out by the whole two steps back, one step ahead.
