Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 No reason to get rid of Zay. You barely pay him McKenzie or Foster. Keep them all. Keep everyone that can help. Especially when 3/5 of the WRs are dirt cheap. 2

blacklabel Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Interesting acquisition. Beasley makes his living in the slot, though, and Daboll clearly has been asking for a Wes Welker/Julian Edelman type. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I dig it. Go Beane. And I don't think this means the end for Zay. Not at all. Beasley is 30 years old and even though it's a 4-year deal, it's likely structured in a way that gives the Bills an out after one or two years. Much like the Tyler Kroft deal. He isn't really guaranteed anything beyond this season. As for Zay, he'll line up outside where he's actually better off. Lot of people tend to think he's made for the slot because he caught so many screens and short passes from there in college but if you look at the film, he excels more when he lines up outside. 1
auburnbillsbacker Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 A waste in my opinion. I was ok with spending big money on 1 WR but not two.
Magox Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) The Bills don't need a true #1. NFL offenses can thrive with a near handful of competent receivers as long as they have someone who can distribute it to them. The Bills are looking to pick up on this trend but add a twist to it by going more vertical with this approach than what we've seen. The thinking is that they have a QB that can not only sling it down the field to the receivers but with the vertical approach it will open up running lanes for Allen to take advantage for chunk running plays. I think it's going to work. Edited March 12, 2019 by Magox 5 1
Dr.Mantis_Toboggan Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Never been a big fan of Beasley, but he’s better than what we’ve had recently, and generally seems sure handed with the ability to get open which is what Allen needs right now.
ColoradoBills Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Lot's of different type WRs for Josh Allen to find who fits in with his style of ball speed and trajectory.

IgotBILLStopay Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BeasCo00.htm started only 4 games for Dallas - but in those limited opportunities had 65 catches and 10.3 yds per catch (even as a slot receiver).
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I’d rather have a WR group of 5 guys that can play well, then be trying to force it to a #1 guy. I really like what we have going here. Now I’d say go draft a TE at 9 or move back in round 1 and take a TE and let’s go. 3
BruceVilanch Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I really don't understand the thought process behind Zay being gone. The kid made a big jump from year 1-2, he's young and has shown improvement. 9
SCBills Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 If we can somehow snag Hockenson.... wow. Kroft/Hockenson working the middle of the field with Beasley in the slot, Foster/Brown taking the top off and the hopeful development of Zay Jones. Beane is, once again, a magician 3 1

Anyone else see that? Weve got some more weapons now but not a lot of youth either. Oldest backfield in the league and brown and beasley are 29/30 Yeah - buys us time to try and get weapons through the draft. We need young talent at RB, pass rush, and linemen on both sides of the ball.

IgotBILLStopay Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 4 yrs 29 mill again a very reasonable deal. https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/dallas-cowboys/cowboys/2019/03/12/report-cole-beasley-moving-cowboys-agrees-deal-buffalo-bills?tab=conversation
