Williams is the more important IMO; very few guards have signed at this point. You can still choose from Saffold, Spain, Garland, Cann, Lang, and others if so inclined. but yes, I say get both Williams AND a guard. Grab a WR with upside like Conley and you have some freedom to go BPA in rounds 1 and 2. 2
thebandit27 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Another idea: offer sheet Seattle's George Fant, who played 385 snaps at RT last year and is a RFA. Not sure what level he was tendered, but he's 26 years old and low mileage. 2

All that Then draft Oliver at 9 / TE like Irv Smith - Noah Fant in round 2 / a very good WR is going to slip through the cracks to round 3 in this draft and then we have 7 picks to go BPA all over the board the rest of the draft.

Interesting idea yet I haven't seen what level tender the Seahawks gave him either but if it's low it's worth a shot yet he was horrible in 2016. Edited March 12, 2019 by The Jokeman
ndirish1978 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Jawaaan Taylor, Dalton Risner, Cody Ford. I'd get a RT in the draft if Williams is gone. Stinks, but I'd rather have a promising rookie than Mills.
gonzo1105 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Ty Nsekhe. Has been a swing tackle for the Redskins. Played extremely well at Tackle and Guard. Older at 33 but not a lot of tread. Has only been in the league for a short time after hoping around the league getting cut 2
Rc2catch Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I am 100% sure they have plans for this. They couldn’t of only planned to land 1-2 of the top tackles. I’m sure they have done homework on the other guys to see if they can find a surprise starter, worst case May have to draft and develop one
BuffaloRebound Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Kind of strange there has been no news about Williams in regards to Bills or any other teams.

Rufridr101 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I believe beano has this deal done because of the Carolina connections

jkeerie Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Just saw on NFL live (Schefter) that Darryl Williams is resigning with Carolina on a 1 year prove it deal. Sorry...I have no link since it was on TV.
John from Riverside Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 It was very smart of Beane to pick up Ty prior to the Darryl Williams outcome then. And I think it does give some direction to the draft IF the bills sign Ziggie
jkeerie Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 It's possible that Beane knew in advance what was going to happen in Carolina and that's why he moved so quickly yesterday with another viable option.

Cameron Fleming has youth on his side and worked with Daboll in New England. LaAdrian Waddle is a depth guy that did start in Detroit when our olineman coach was an assistant there. Parnell is easily the best of that bunch and he's not better than Nsekhe by more than a whisker, if at all.

This should have been his big payday.

Ty is a below average starter, but Mills is a backup at best. It's amazing that he's had a starting job this long. I don't know how PFF rates them, but on my Madden 19, Ty is a 76 and Mills is a 71. I know that's just Madden, but I think their player ratings are better than many people claim -- They just get mad when their favorite player gets downgraded.
