Not absolutely but likely... so I’ll be curious to see more detail https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/tyler-kroft-16809/ $1.6 mil dead cap if cut after this season ($5 mil savings for 2020)
Mat68 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Hes better than anything Buffalos had at Te for quite some time. I like his upside. Contract isnt bad either. Fills a need but imo wouldn't stop them from taking a Te high in the draft.

Teddy KGB Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 This guy stinks. Beane should have went after Jared Cook

And in case people think I am just being homerish my view that Tyler Kroft should be our FA TE target is widely available on these forums. Search my name and Kroft and you will find plenty if threads where I said it. Yep you were on Kroft from the beginning. I appreciate your analysis.

BillsFan4 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 I like this signing a whole lot more after seeing the contract details. Not much risk there, and there’s plenty of potential upside. Good job Beane! (and Overdorf...?) 1

Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 1m1 minute ago The #Bills have agreed to terms with TE Tyler Kroft on a 3-year deal worth $18.75M ($6.25M per year), source said. It can be worth $21M. My question is they hosted Allen first and he signed 2 years $7 million with Dolphins, and then they bring this guy in and pay him 3 year $18.75 mil? Wasn't Allen the cheaper option?

Wasn't Allen the cheaper option? Allen and Kroft are completely different TE's in terms of skills and how they're used. My best guess is they weren't, well we didn't get Allen so get Kroft. I think they'll find a blocking TE for the roll they investigated Allen for.
Chandler#81 Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Better than average run blocker, soft hands, smooth route runner, knows where he is on the field and where he has to go AND plays on every Special Teams unit. What’s not to like?

His snow shovel TD celebration is still one of my favs.. ? Clay was supposed to be an upgrade, but we never saw it unfortunately.. edit: Kroft also had a faster 40 coming out of college then Chandler btw Edited March 12, 2019 by badassgixxer05
FeelingOnYouboty Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 The way this is structured it's a good deal. Seems pretty clear we'll be adding a Day 2 TE.
