eball Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 42 minutes ago, PlayoffsPlease said: Latest rumor is Jets https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/jets-seen-as-favorites-to-land-leveon-bell/ar-BBUCy3W?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=ACERDHP17 Regarding Bells dependency on a line. His is less than Shady's (by like 1000x, now that McCoy is old and broken down) . Bells effectiveness has a receiver is also pretty independent of the line. It's a bit early to pull the plug on Mr. McCoy. Let's see how the OL shapes up and how Shady looks when they report. 2

He played a few snaps in each of the other games, but nothing substantial. He wasn't a prolific passer, but that number is incredibly misleading. So he's Tyrod Taylor?

I think Shady can bounce back too. He's getting a little too much flak for an offense that couldn't run with anybody carrying the ball. I also would like him splitting snaps in a 50/50 role or even less, but I'm not hung up on going out of our way to find that other guy that would get more carries. Go after OL and take a late round flyer RB or just get a backup FA or trade RB that's not friggin Chris Ivory old.

They definitely need to draft a RB, but I think Shady/Ivory will be productive if the OL is fixed. I'd like to see them draft one in the 4th or 5th.

BuffaloRebound Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 My money is on the Eagles with Bell. For Wentz’s sake, they need to win next year.

All teams with passing attacks that need a running threat to be especially dangerous. And we say RBs are a dime a dozen.. they really aren't for a lot of teams. Ya gotta draft them well. Bills fans might feel that way after Travis Henry, Willis McGahee, Marshawn Lynch, FredEx, Spiller, McCoy, Karlos, Gillislee. We've just invested a crapload of draft picks at the position lol. Packers just don't.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 ..thought I read where he said he'd "love to play for the Colts"......could EASILY catch Irsay at a weak moment with the check book and cash in the glove compartment....

I like Allen quite a bit more and LJ had better weapons, but let's not get carried away with the LJ hate. He's not the Bills QB so I don't really care.

Josh Allen's last 5 starts he averaged 216.4 ypg passing 1.4 passing TDs 75.4 yards rushing .8 rushing tds So 291 total yards per game and 2.2 TDs per game Lamar Jackson last 5 starts (not counting the playoff game) 157.2 ypg passing .8 passing TDs/ game 73.2 ypg rushing .6 rushing tds/game So 230.4 total yards per game 1.4 Tds per game Over a 16 game season: Josh Allen 3462 yards passing 22 passing Tds 1206.4 yards rushing 12.8 (13) rushing TDs 4668 total yards and 35 TDs Lamar Jackson 2,515 yards passing 12.8 (13) Passing TDs 1,171 yards rushing 9.6 (10) Rushing TDs 3,686 total yards 23 TDs Only 1,000 yards and 12 Tds difference over 16 games. That's 100 first down and 72 points. For reference, here is Tyrod's thrid year starting stats over 15 games 2,799 yards passing 14 TD 427 yards rushing 4 TD 3,226 total yards and 18 TDs Allen needs a ton of work, but I'm real sick of hearing the media talk about how polished LJ is and how Allen cant hit the broadside of a barn. Its lazy and flat out wrong 1

PetermansRedemption Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I’m still hoping the Bills are stealthy in on Bell. 85 receptions for 655 yards in 2017. To go along with 1300 rushing yards. 11 total TD’s. Give him 15 million. Cut Shady and Gore and it’s like your paying Bell 6 million a year. Yeah, I’ll take Bell for 6 million more than Gore and McCoy.

Its lazy and flat out wrong LJ is credited with turning a lost season into a playoff appearance. He’s earned it, his career is off to a better start in nearly every category... it means nothing about the future, in my view, but Jackson indisputably had a better year, while keeping a Super Bowl mvp on the bench

I posted his stats compared to our own rookie and the guy who apparently was terrible had better stats, more TDs, more YPG on a worse team Jackson should get credit, but he was far from the biggest reason they made the playoffs

But I happened to randomly catch some Ravens games where he was dominant. Passing was always iffy but much better than what people give him credit for. Chargers game felt like nothing he showed he can do from the regular season was there. He makes much better decisions/passes than he did that game. I'd look for a contingency plan no doubt. But as of now, you really can't just move on from a rookie QB going 6-2. And I don't think an L Bell signing says much about Lamar Jackson anyway. He'll make LJ look better. They would have a really unique offense. But LJ could still ultimately fail and they can still find a QB if they want to move on next year or 2 with Bell still under contract. Bell and LJ with a great defense looks great on paper to me. Jackson's biggest negative has always been turnovers. He was quite adapt at turning the ball over in college and seems to have taken that trait with him to the NFL.
