Which is part of the reason the tax issue is really overblown. It might be like a 1 percent factor in free agency, but I would highly doubt it's the deciding factor for many FA's. I would actually be surprised if it were a deciding factor for any player, but you never know.

I agree.  I doubt Brown even thinks about taxes.  He lets Rosenhaus worry about that stuff.

Brown is more excited about the casinos.

If I were a rich, young, single guy I wouldn't mind living and playing in Las Vegas.  They have no state income tax in Nevada either.

Half of the game checks they tax to the state the game was played in

Well, Antonio, 4 o’clock has come and gone.  We are all still riveted to Instagram waiting for your big announcement.

(The one where you acknowledge that 31 NFL teams decided you’re a pain in the ass, not worthy of a 1st round pick or a pay raise.).

***** AB and the horse he rode in on.

Please let it be over soon.

He can live out of a trailer while the Raiders look for a home.

Are roster bonuses due March 13th?

This could drag out until Tuesday.

His 2.5m bonus is due on the 17th if I remember correctly.

It seems obvious at this point that he's trying to get cut so he can go wherever he wants (the patriots would be my guess, maybe the browns) and the steelers are holding out hope of getting a good return instead of sinking their loses and moving him. This could get worse before it's over.

Steelers need to take control of this and just hold his ass until he agrees to report to a team that gives them compensation they’re comfortable with.

Just checked - you are correct (apparently, the dates vary by slightly from player to player).

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/agents-take-the-nfls-crucial-2019-offseason-dates-and-what-they-mean-for-your-team/

So this could drag out til next Saturday, and probably will.

But we can start signing Free Agents on Wednesday, and begin talking to their agents Monday.

Thank God there’ll be more important things to talk about than AB The Man-Child.

I think teams build later dates like that so that they can make moves before having to deal with a bonus and whatnot. (which is probably largely irrelevant in the new model of trades and deals happening year round)

I’m starting to feel more and more that this is all hype being generated by AB to get people interested, because his market is far below what he hoped

Quitting on your team during a playoff chase for all the world to see has a way of lowering your value around the league.

My impression is AB doesn't want to benefit the Steelers with his departure to the point of destroying his own reputation.

Some bad blood...

These are the types of questions that would make it not worth it if I’m the Saints.

Absolutely not worth it for the Saints. They have an extremely solid offense that really doesn’t need AB. Bringing him in would not be worth the risk of messing with that offensive chemistry IMO. Only a matter of time before he would blast someone who offended him.

I think the most salient point here is that our GM is a baller, and that he won't capitulate when he knows the value is not right.

I like that Beane had the balls...
