With virtually everything available at your fingertips, there's far less need to actually attend these kind of events. Don't need to leave the house to buy things, watch things, etc. Not sure if it's good or bad, but this seems emblematic of the larger societal changes. The only value, as others have alluded to, is the player interviews.
