if it aint broke dont fix it

Why not get better?  Poyer is soft.  His idea of "open field tackle" is getting stiff armed to the ground by WRs and RBs.

Would be a massive upgrade over Poyer and bring a physical presence we are sorely lacking

Him and Hyde with Poyer as the 3rd safety in a big dime package would be a dream scenario

we have cap to spend

I would not prioritize him, but the signing would bring major flexibility to the defense. If I had to choose though, I put my preference in building both sides of the ball from the inside out.

So Poyer and his cheap deal needs to be upgraded?

really?  Keep Poyer.....because he's cheap?

This FO has tons of cash that would not force them to stick with a mediocrity like Jordan Poyer.

Orrrrr

Sign Collins, trade Poyer and a pick for Antonio Brown.

There you go.  Let Poyer cheat on his wife and bang state college coeds in some other NFL towns.

I don’t mind Poyer..

Lets see what the FO does... I think they will keep him and pass on this guy..

Why not get far more physical in the secondary?  I don't understand the downside.

This.

Guys coverage skills are not good.

Neither are Poyer's.  And he's not good at the line of scrimmage.

The added production for the price difference isnt worth it in my opinion.

I think it depends what he’s looking for... if he is looking for a massive 60-70 million dollar deal I’d pass

if he is willing to play on a 2 year deal for 16 million or so I’d be game

I think you better compare the stat lines and look again.  The massive upgrade is in name recognition only.  Poyer should have made the Probowl the last 2 years, not Collins.

Collins can’t cover.  He’s really good at the line of scrimmage.

This is the bottom line. Collins is basically a small LB.
