At his age, being retired for a year, and now coming back? Can he be near his old form? Or is this a somewhat selfish move on his part, and an even bigger blunder on the Cowgirls' part? Baffling.... GETTOTHE50 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 does he even make it through training camp without retiring again is the question
Alphadawg7 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 (edited) Yikes...great guy, great player...but I don't if I would come back if I was him. I just cant see this being a good move given age and spending a year away from the game. I think the adjustment to get back to the physicality of the sport is going to be greater than he realizes on his elder body now. Edited February 28, 2019 by Alphadawg7

Gugny Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I wonder if MNF told him he wouldn't be coming back. The only two people - ever - I've heard do a worse job are Rex Ryan and Beth Mowin. Witten was historically bad and I hope he never goes back. 1
teef Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 i can't imagine this doesn't go poorly. he retired once for a reason.
Kelly the Dog Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Espn probably told Jerry Jones, "Hey, Jer, we'll pay you $13 million to take this dude back and put him on the field and keep him off the air." 3 4
Bangarang Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 He sucked on MNF so this is a win for NFL fans.
whatdrought Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 This is cringeworthy. You don't go back to a career you're too old for because you sucked at your other career. This is Brett Favre level bad, (and I doubt Witten performs even as well as Favre did in his return(s)) 2

whatdrought Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 What if Boogers boogermobile can come out of retirement and go back to it's former career as space ***** and take boomer with it?
atlbillsfan1975 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I just hope he doesn't end up like Apolo at the hands of Drago! 1

The NFL sweetened the pot by offering Jerrah... $20 million in a cap space bump to take him back....as good as Romo is in the booth, his buddy is that bad... 1

416BillsFan Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 God is good! I can't wait to listen to Not-Jason Witten next year on MNF. 1
Seoulofstone Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Greg Olsen to replace Witten in the booth. I reckon.
