Robert Kraft charged in prostitution ring bust ( Update: Kraft legal team accused of lying in court)

It is a misdemeanor folks. If it was anybody but Kraft the thread wouldn’t have made it 10 pages. The moral outrage at him is driven by envy. So if we are to take his football team then should we take every business from every owner that has ever engaged in solicitation? Or just the ones that we can’t beat in football?

Human trafficking isn't just related to sex acts. If they are brought over and forced to work in the nail salons, that is also human trafficking. Often times people are promised of good paying jobs, etc to lure them. Then they get there and the "employer" takes their passports, etc... and forces them into labor. I was a gov't contractor in Qatar after retiring from the AF and I saw this first hand. The amount of trafficking to build the infrastructure for the World Cup in 2022 is astronomical.

That's a bit different. That was well documented. It didnt take being in the air force to know that story

The Chinese buffet restaurant where you like to get those crab legs may well engage in human trafficking.  My wife and I know a girl who has been shipped around the country as an illegal alien to various Chinese restaurants.  Because they are illegal aliens, they are afraid to go to the authorities to complain about pay that is well under the minimum wage and hours well in excess of what labor laws allow.

And what have you done for her besides post about it on a messageboard?

You're either a liar or just as complicit in it all as those you villanize.

I'm not quite sure I understand the point of view being espoused that equates grandma's getting their nails done, or someone getting food from a Chinese buffet with a guy paying 60 bucks for sex.

It's not even remotely close. Even if Robert Kraft has no clue what those girls are dealing with.

If he was just getting 45 minutes of massage, and a ball rub for the last 15 minutes from a 40 year old  Chinese woman (which is generally the case with these "massage spas") that he paid $50 for at the counter, with $40 for a tip, I really don't see the big deal. If there is more to it, then I am fine with him being held accountable.

My point about the nail salons is that THE SAME WOMEN that work the massage tables, are also working at the salons, giving low cost service to people (mainly women, many of them 'pussyhatters', no doubt) that KNOW full well that they are receiving a service at a "discounted rate", and are just as culpable for exploiting the trafficked women as the guys getting HJ's.

One involves "sex" (cough) at an exorbitant rate, while the other involves a service at a "below market value" rate.

Men/sex

Women/vanity

I'm right.

A good read....

https://www.complex.com/sports/2013/09/history-athletes-busted-with-prostitutes/james-worthy

I wonder how many prostitutes the "great" 90's Bills were involved with? Hmmmm......

I wonder how many strippers have been "overpaid" by Buffalo Sabres, Bills, Bisons, Braves and Bandits? Hmmm...

Methinks the outrage is mostly fueled by a rabid hatred of the Patriots, and not so much by concern for "human trafficking".

I could be wrong....

Kraft gets humiliated.

A small portion of the sex trade is resolved.  These sex slaves were from China. Many are American Teenagers kidnapped off of the streets.

There are some curious little crusades in this thread. False equivalencies and straw men, with a generous portion of “U HATE THEM CUZ YOU AINT THEM.”

Not really.  Havens and the other guy Childs are only "names" because they're billionaires who, like Kraft, you would think would have better sense than to get caught doing something like that.  But neither is a "name" anywhere close to Kraft, especially among Schefter's target audience.

If they released the names and it read like this:  Dave Tepper, Wyc Grousbeck, Tillman Fertitta, Clay Bennett, Jeff Vinick, Rocky Wirtz, or Jim Crane...you and most everyone here would say.."who?"

But if they said the list also includes the owners of the Carolina panthers, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, OKC Thunder, Tampa Bay Lightning, Chicago Blackhawks and the Houston Astros....everyone would say "WOW, those are some really big names they busted!"

The NFL already get's enough black eyes when each year the SB is the greatest marketplace for human sex trafficking. They will respond hard to this. Too many PR nightmares this year.

"Some groups claim that the influx of crowds for the Super Bowl contributes to an increase in sex trafficking. But leading anti-trafficking groups, such as Polaris Project and the International Human Trafficking Institute, say no evidence supports the claim. "

We contacted a lawyer for a non-profit agency that works with illegal aliens.  She wants to stay in this country because she can send money home to her mom and stepdad.  He is a commercial fisherman, a very low paying job in China.  She opted not to talk to the lawyer we contacted.  She has been working with a lawyer for the agency that brought her to this country in the first place.  They want her to get married in this country.  She has moved in with a boyfriend. The government knows about her now, and I think there is something going on, but I am not privy to that information.  We got to know her when she was working in Corning, NY.  She has since been in Texas, Virginia (twice) and is now in Boston, MA.  She and my wife text back and forth on occasion.  We only know what she tells us.

I could rattle-off names of people you don't know and they'd be "names" in that they're rich people who you hear about occasionally/rarely.  But Kraft's had his name in the paper a lot and is the biggest name of those they caught at the spa.  Which was the point.

I hope your tongue was in your cheek when you used the word curious. There are dogs who just can’t put this bone down. No pun intended

It's about not getting caught. The second you get caught it is open season on your ass.

I get that you want to paint a scarlet letter on Kraft but nothing has been resolved. The Lotus Flower probably just opened in-place of the Orchid with the same girls. It is a tragedy of epic proportions but until real punishment is bestowed on all Johns and not just an owner of a major sports organization it is going to be same as it ever was. The people that are making jokes in this thread are the enablers. There is zero humor in this situation.
