Heading out to las Vegas the 2nd weekend of March.  My wife wanted to stay at Paris(which I never been before) so I booked there.  I plan on spending Saturday hanging out at the sports book & betting on the college BBall games.  Has anybody ever been to Paris sports book?  From the picture it doesn't look that great.  When I stay I usually hang out at Harrahs sports book.  Not the greatest sports book but they are the easiest to get drink tickets at.  Paris from what I have read sounds like they are pretty easy also.  The other option to walk down to harrahs or maybe go to Bally's sports book, which is connected to Paris.  Any information would be appreciated.  Thanks

Take warm clothes, for the times you're not in the Sports Book.  They had snow last night, and once the sun sets on the desert, it gets unbelievably cold there, during the winter months.

Stayed at Paris shortly after it opened in the (I think) late 90's?  So it's almost 20 years old now.  If I recall, the sports book was fine.  The casino itself is cool -- they painted and designed it to look like the streets of -- you guessed it -- Paris.

I recall the Bally's sports book as being not at all as comfortable.  I think you'll be fine at Paris.

I’d almost rather have snow in Vegas than what we experienced in August.  It was easily hovering around 120 during the day...got down to a cool 95 at night.  Unbearable.

If you’re really into the sports book thing, check out the Westgate Superbook.  When we went last August my BIL spent most of his time here.  Looked pretty cool...wasn’t really my thing.

I have been to Westgate before.  It was too big, I really didn't like it.  They were easy to get drinks from(I don't even think they had a drink ticket system in place at that time) but I don't know wasn't my favorite place.

For the people that says it is cold out there, tell me about it.  One of the reasons my wife wanted to stay at paris was their pool is open all year round.  I tried to tell her the long range forecast only has temps barely getting out of the 60s when we are going.  You can't tell her anything.  Some people have to learn the hard way I guess.  LOL

yeah but the Heat index was only 100 with the low humidity

I was in St George  Utah a few years back and it was 112 with a heat index of 98.

I finished my work by 2 and spent the next 4 hours at the bath   I mean pool

I'm going to Vegas tomorrow. Been many times. Staying at the Bellagio, never done that!

My go-to for a book would be Caesar's. Westgate is huge, Bally's is smallish, and Paris is slightly claustrophobic for me in all regards.

Bally's is a dump... it's got a great location but the facility itself needs a lot of TLC.  It's seen better days.

Westgate is where I usually place wagers in Vegas.  Many of the "big" casinos have de-emphasized their sports books (or cut way back on things like drink tickets) in recent years since the profit from them is smaller than other things like slots.  Mirage has a good sports book if you don't mind reserving a seat.  If off-strip is an option, I have heard that South Point is good.

Bally’s sports book is about as basic as it gets. Wouldn’t make a point of spending time there. I always like Legasse’s stadium in the Palazzo. Sure it’s overpriced sports bar food that’s just “ok”,  but I like the vibe.

Bellagio's sports book is really nice.  They are tough on the drink tickets though.  It never used to be like that but they started getting stingy a few years ago.

I would 2nd Caesars....good book.  Pretty generous with drink tickets.  Usually gave me 2 every time I went and placed a bet or cashed a ticket.  This was 2 summers ago.

Thought I posted this yesterday, but if that is the first weekends on the Tourney, I have heard it is crazy and every book is packed from first to last games. Think a lot of guys do boys trips/bachelor parties that weekend..so if ya looking to get lucky with some drunk dudes should be a good time to be there!

I might do a quick google search best book in vegas to watch NCAA BB Trny

Yep I’ve heard it’s absolutely insane. I would definitely pre-plan if you’re thinking of hitting any of the “popular” places. If not, something like Bally’s or Paris might be the best chance and they’ll prob be slammed also.
