There are separate tours this year by Zappa and Ronnie James Dio which use their bandmates but superimpose those artists to play with their former bandmates.

In the case of Zappa the shows will introduce new music with former band mates: https://www.zappa.com/news/frank-zappa-hologram-world-premiere-new-music-former-bandmates-bizarre-world-frank-zappa

From what I have read, the Dio shows use classic tunes: http://www.metalstorm.net/events/news_comments.php?news_id=34597

Only way I would consider seeing the Dead now is with hologram Jerry on stage and John Mayer gone. :D

Seriously, I might check out a hologram Beatles show if the reviews were good.

I'd rather see a tribute band show than a Hologram show. I think it's a cool novelty to have. If a band has carried on after a member passed had the hologram for a song or two, that'd be cool. Like if a Freddie Hologram came out for a song with Queen + Adam Lambert. But I just can't see paying good money to watch a projection. At least wit ha tribute band/impersonator, it's a live thing. Granted they're usually with real backup bands, but it just seems like a waste of money to me.

No thanks. I'll just listen to the recordings. Maybe the only one I'd consider is if they hologramed Bonn Scott, but then I'd just watch the AC/DC movie.

I'd be okay with a hologram of Bon during a song or two with the real AC/DC if they ever toured again. A duet with Brian Johnson on Long Way To The Top would be cool.
