IgotBILLStopay Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Pre-injury, the guy was really good. McD saw him vs. Cam Newton firsthand in the Super Bowl. He is a bit of a bully on the defensive side. He and Von Miller have been credited with messing up the young Broncos QBs Paxton Lynch and Trevor Simian in practice so much. And teams do run a lot against the Broncos - so he has experience in stopping the run. At this point, I dont want him to take away from the development of Edmunds and Milano - but if he is willing to accept back up money and be happy as a back up - may not be a bad idea to bring him in to mentor our young LBs. Bonus reason to sign him: https://www.denverpost.com/2017/08/02/tom-brady-dissed-broncos-linebacker-brandon-marshall/ Quote Marshall remembers Jan. 24, 2016, as if it were yesterday. The Broncos were playing New England with a trip to Super Bowl 50 on the line. It was second down. The Patriots broke the huddle. “Tom Brady …” Marshall recalled. “He looked at (running back) James White and said: ‘You’ve got 54. Get open.’” Marshall didn’t need to check his jersey. He’s No. 54. Brady shouted the Patriots were coming after him. “Before the play,” said Marshall, still mystified how Brady could have such open contempt of his pass-coverage skills. “He didn’t read the defense. He just said: ‘You’ve got 54. Get open.’” How did Marshall react? “I took it as a challenge. I was offended, at first. … He said it so loud, like he wanted me to hear,” Marshall said. From the shotgun, Brady took the snap and immediately looked for White on an option route. He threw. Marshall refused to be beaten. The pass fell incomplete. Marshall trotted to the Denver sideline, being replaced in Denver’s third-down defensive package by teammate Danny Trevathan. Before leaving the field, however, Marshall recalled, “I looked at Brady and I looked at James White, like ‘All right. That’s how you feel about me?’” There was no harm to the Broncos on the play. But it left a permanent scar on Marshall’s pride. “I’ll never forget that,” Marshall said. “I’m going to say something to Brady at some point.” 1

RPbillsfan Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Older and injury prone. Think I'd prefer Thomas Davis for an experienced back-up 4

offyourocker Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 He had a lot of off the field issues also

Not that he knows anything specifically but I heard Joe B on WGR today and he doesn’t see a fit for TD here. Felt like he would want a bigger role than backing up Milano. machine gun kelly Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 He’s far past his prime. This team is focused on players ascending or in their prime.
Rc2catch Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Yeah I can see a vet locker room leader kinda guy like kyle.. which IMO would be Thomas Davis. You want vets who work hard and smart and can help mold this young core. I don’t think Marshall fits that.
Beast Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 (edited) Just heard this guy on Sirius being interviewed. Not that interviews mean anything but..........pass. Edited February 15, 2019 by Binghamton Beast
BillsSB2020 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 I'm holding out hope for Bud Dupree. Much more interested in seeing an OLB in the mold of Lorax who can rush the passer. Very comfortable with Edmunds and Milano. 1
NewEra Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Tom Brady thought was bad a few years ago...... prior to injury. He made one play. I’d rather go with Lorax. Maybe bring him on as depth.
TigerJ Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 (edited) Animosity toward Tom Brady is certainly a plus, but I don't think it's really enough to justify signing Marshall. If anything, at linebacker I would think Buffalo would be looking for a clear strong side linebacker to replace Zo when he hangs it up after the 2019 season, and they would be looking for a younger guy - in not a draft pick, then someone in the 25-27 age range.
