Color me skeptical of my Democrat colleagues' newfound respect for the Constitution,

but again: if they're ready to PERMANENTLY rein in executive power and return it to Congress—great. Let's do it today.

Until then: POTUS' action on the border is within the law as written.

Typical. It’s “his guy” so no need to do anything. That works so well for each new president.

He IS within the law as it is written.  The national emergency to build the border wall is just as valid as Obama's national emergency over Burundi's human rights violations.

It's the law that sucks here, not the ####### executing it.  Notably, Congress doesn't want to fix the law, they want to fix this #######.  This is an explicit attempt to imbue different rights and restrictions of executive action to different people based on who they are, rather than granting executive action to the office.

Hilarious mis-reading.

He is saying it's THE LAW .....................and each preceding President followed it....................and so can Trump.

Quit being a crybaby.

U.S. Border Patrol Chief: "There is an ongoing debate about whether this constitutes a border security crisis or a humanitarian crisis. Let me be clear: it is both."

I know a lesbian when I see one and that is a wallet-toting lesbian. 100% chance she wears wolverine work boots.

Also, the “lady” behind her to the left looks like Bruce Willis with boobs.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/nypd-cops-living-in-long-island-warned-about-ms-13-targeting-them-—-sources/ar-BBU9uEn?ocid=HPDHP17

NYPD officers living in Long Island are being told to watch their backs after a report surfaced that MS-13 gang members may be targeting them for “street cred,” police sources said Tuesday.

The warning came in an alert sent sent out by at least one Queens NYPD precinct, claiming MS-13 gang members are looking to attack cops living in the Brentwood, Central Islip and Patchogue areas.

The gang members are allegedly doing “reconnaissance” on the private homes of police officers, the alert says, encouraging all cops in Long Island to be aware of their surroundings when leaving their homes and to change up their travel routes if possible.

Sources with knowledge of the alert said the information surfaced during an investigation into MS-13 activities in Suffolk County.

Cops learned that gang members from an MS-13 subset had planned to “hit” a cop in an effort to gain status.

This is probably the part where TH3 or Tibs explains that this is just Trump working behind the scenes to get sympathy for building the wall.

If it is, it hasn't worked very well, the stupid wall is not popular at all. Trump's ravings about the caravan sure didn't help with the midterms where the American people took out the House trash with a 40 seat battering. That with a gerrymandered election map!

Only party robots need apply.

That makes for great governance. How’s it working for the left?

Pretty well, actually. They control the narrative, the media and the House. Possibly the Senate in two years.

So maybe robotic following of the party is a ... bad ... thing?

Yes, and no.

It is always good to have a lot of voices to form a consensus and "get things done" (I am assuming what is getting done is beneficial to society, but that is probably Pollyannaish). Which means that the voices need to have differing opinions, slightly differing opinions, and the same opinions, and be willing to work within those differences to form a cohesion; a goal.

What we have now is a buncha people on the left whose main cohesion is #OrangeManBad.  Which is of course, stupid and does not work as a "common goal" for many Americans.

The political parties should have a platform.  The goals of the platform should be what the party works toward achieving when in power, or what they (majority and minority) work on by crossing the aisle and getting the other side to support their goals.

Does that always work? Of course not. But it is a good idea in theory and worked fairly well until #OrangeManBad.

Now, some of the R house flipped seats to D from 2018 didn't happen because #OrangeManBad voters, it happened to get rid of the DNC RINOs. Basically, addition by subtraction via the "retirement" and who was running in their place.  (When people ask why didn't XYZ happen with a House and Senate majority the first two years of the Trump Presidency... you don't think all Republicans got on board the Trump Train, do you!? There was a certain faction that was (and probably still is) working against him.)

So circling back... the purpose of belonging to a political party (IMO) is to join together as a unit to work to a common goal.  When all members of that political party are not sold on what the common goal is, chaos and/or gridlock may occur.  You'd like the people in your party to want to achieve the common goal. The time to vet them, if before they run.
