Wacka Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Started seeing posts on FB and other sites that Niagara alls has frozen over. They appear every winter like age swallows at Capistramo. Usually posted by someone from California that has never seen snow, let alone winter.☹️ 1
BuffaloBill Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Same people believe buffalo is -10 degrees all winter with 20 feet of snow on the ground. 1

row_33 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Parts aren’t more valuable than the whole for freezing? Nor can Lake Ontario, good to have 98 percent of my life a half mile north of it

And some of them have government jobs..... In Quebec, a councilor who is also deputy mayor made comments that the Prime Minister made up 'Islamaphobia', and now made comments that the media is part of a conspiracy to cover up the fact that the world is really flat.....

I've been to the falls a few times when its been frozen over. It's all those clueless people that think all of NY is an extension of NY City

It's all those clueless people that think all of NY is an extension of NY City Typical internet 'click bait' Misleading headline to get you to click on their story. Say Niagara Falls is frozen and people immediately think the water fall has turned into a solid chunk of ice when really it's just a build up of ice and snow athletic the bottom and along areas above. Or they mean it's really cold or icy in the City of Niagara Falls......
row_33 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Parts be frozen, it is too powerful to freeze completely unless Batman’s worst villains want to do it

ExiledInIllinois Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 It's called an "ice bridge." Froze over does mean it is, well, frozen over. It can still move under, flow under the ice. Rivers freeze over and so does The Falls. Ice did stop the roar in March 1848: http://www.niagarafrontier.com/fallsstopped.html And in the olden times, when idiots were free to do what they please... They actually played on the ice when The Falls "froze over." What a great day of sledding (sliding if you are from hippy, screwy Vermont)! Until people got killed of course. But these reports and headlines make it sound like to people not from here that the actual waterfall portion is frozen and the ice bridge is some rare phenomenon. When you talk about the falls, people dont think of the gorge, Rapids or Niagara River, they think of the actual falls. 1
