Rediculous to even suggest it. Good ROLE player on a great team. But he is a role player.

Does anyone think Kevin Faulk or James White or Wes Welker are hall of famers?

on the radio yesterday the sports guy said that he thought  Wekler was a better WR.

Isaac Bruce  just got rejected for the third time & his stats are something like over 1,000 receptions & 15K yards.  I think Edeleman has 400 + catches & 5K yards.  Shefter should put down pipe & stop saying such stupid stuff.

Over the last 20 years, these guys have had equal/greater success in the EXACT same role that we see Julian Edelman play.

None of these guys has been remotely good outside of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots system.

Most of the time, Edelman finds himself matched up against a linebacker in the slot, or totally uncovered for the first 5-6 yards of his route.

His limited skills are a perfect fit for the New England offense, and how Brady has always preferred to attack the defense.  Put him on literally any other team, and he would be lucky to have HALF of the production he's got now.

Its not much of an advantage when pretty much everyone is using them.  The only thing I would consider is that may not be the case anymore.

Thought we were talking about Edelman not Welker.  At the moment his numbers dont cut it.

your gross bias against him doesn't amount to anything

maybe the Electors will take in unsolicited whining from Bills fans about Edelman ripping them to shreds

PEDs should not be allowed in the HOF

are you even like .01% serious with that statement?

Yeah, this is just heat of the moment stuff.  Even if he was a cheap shoting little punk who used PEDs, he shouldn’t get in.  He’s not even as good as Wes Welker and there’s no way he is getting in.  Does anyone really think Cole Beasley won’t be good catching 5 yard passes from Brady?

AS is great at breaking news but his opinions are sometimes terrible.

Gross bias?  LMAO since when does 499 receptions 5390 yards and 30 TDs in 9 seasons get you into the hall of fame.

Im not even sure Welker gets into the HOF.

A HOF WR we all know took a bit to get in had, 951 rec, 13198 yrds and 87 TDs.

He still has time though.

Surname of Branch means you NEVER get your props for the vertical game with Brady or The Snake.    :(

I have no issues with that

Then you'd be getting rid of most of the league because I assure you that HGH use is rampant. There's a reason the league doesn't test for it -- it's unparalleled at accelerating the healing of muscle tears, and countless NFL players suffer such tears (relatively minor but still debilitating) every week. Without it, tons more players would be injured every week of the season.

That said, and I can’t believe I am saying this, but I believe part of the reason why this is coming up....honestly, is because Edelman is white.

My initial thought was that it's because he's Jewish.  Perhaps Schefter got caught up with Edelman being the first, ever Jewish Super Bowl MVP and let his imagination run a little too wild before pressing send.

i have no trouble accepting that every player in the NFL has been using something since 1960, maybe the punters aren't.

to point the finger at someone for using is the worst form of hypocrisy if you have any football heroes....

it helped the Pats by letting him sit out an extra four weeks to heal and not risk injury

He doesn't have anywhere near the required stats. No possible chance he ever sniffs the HOF. Plus, once Brady retires he'll fade into obscurity.

Why aren’t other guys testing positive though?  I mean I know part of the reason (you ever given the dates of the test well in advance).

But as someone who never ever need to take roids or PEDs and played with guys who did, it sucks.  You shouldn’t have to be pressured into taking things if you don’t want to.  At the same time, I do get the injury recovery part.

i thought he was a thing for more than 4.5 seasons to date.

He needs another 4 more years of this.

Re 10 to 40 percent, I'd put it on the upper end and even probably above 40. At the end of the day, the NFL really can't go after HGH use in a serious way. That's because of the nature of the sport itself. I don't even have a problem with it given that I think it's effective medicine for people whose occupation requires in participating in the equivalent of multiple car wrecks every Sunday for 5-6 months.

Jeepers, Gugny, I didn't even know that he was jewish.

Man, the first gray, bald, overweight Italian guy with bad eyes that becomes MVP of the SB is getting me as his first vote into Canton.
