Look, punish the guy.  Suspend the guy.   Suspend him without pay.  It wasn't very professional, but considering it wasn't actionable to end the guys employment is a little harsh.

Exactly Donuts. Which is why maybe the same fine folks at tmz sports who seem to be able to get surveillance video (whilst the NFL's crack security teams wander about in a fog of cluelessnes), could look into whether or not the boss of this former employee is a Patriots fan? ;)  Just sayin'.

It's a M*A*SH reference, where Frank talks about suing someone who badmouthed him, and Hawkeye says, "No doubt for definition (not defamation) of character".  Laughs ensue.
