As far as actual talent goes though, Ace is the real deal. They're a good band if you listen to full albums, but they also knew how to write/sing songs that would be commercially successful. Gugny Posted January 31, 2019 Share Posted January 31, 2019 My thoughts: This is completely fabricated, likely by Gene, to generate interest in another reunion. People who say that the original KISS lineup sucked have a right to their opinion; people who say they had no talent don't know what they're talking about. Great songwriters? No. But they are all decent at their respective instruments; especially Gene and Ace. KISS has been about making money from day one. As Wicked Lester, they weren't making it. Gene Simmons is as much of a genius as he is an a-hole. My opinion is that their last good album was Love Gun (78) ... MAYBE Dynasty (79). But once the original lineup broke up - I think their music has sucked. My childhood dream came true in 1998 when the original lineup went on tour and I was able to see them. I'm happy with once and wouldn't pay more than $20 to see them again - and I wouldn't go to a non-original lineup KISS show unless it was free. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
