It's one year though, so meh. Totally agree, but there aren't many options. Funny, I will be there in March for the USA7's Rugby International Tournament again. But, its just 1 year, might as well play where you new fan base will be. And thats the only stadium in the are they can play in. 1

Livinginthepast Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 I thought the Bills in Toronto was painful. I cannot imagine how angry I would be as a Raider fan after putting up with the move to LA in the 80s and now a permanent move away from Oakland. The owners have always been aholes for this team!
KD in CA Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 (edited) They should play home games at 8 different venues, just jump around. That would be great. 3 hours ago, Mark Vader said: Berkeley is a pain with all of it's hills. They'd be better off playing at Stanford. Although they could wind up at the stadium where the San Francisco Giants play baseball. Yeah, but parking is a breeze! Actually, Cal was my first thought. 2 hours ago, ExWNYer said: Mark Davis reaches out to Raiduh Nation... If anyone ever doubted that gingers have no soul.....just look at that guy. I feel bad for fans of a team that moves (except the Jags) but the Vegas Raiders are going to blow up. They'll have a weak home field advantage though. There will be tons of fans from all over the NFL traveling to those games. Should be very interesting.

row_33 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 The 1973 Jets didn’t have a home until the Mets World Series run ended at Shea. In a 14 game season they were on the road the first six and lost a home game right for the remaining 8 weeks.
Doc Brown Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Just alternate Sunday's with the 49ers at Levi's Stadium. I wonder if Vegas has a line on where they'll play this year.
SoTier Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 12 hours ago, Brianmoorman4jesus said: Just go to somewhere near Vegas now and build the fan base up. Might as well get that dead year out of the way so the new stadium might have some raider fans in it Where in the desert would you suggest? Once you get away from the LV metro, most of the potential "fan base" consists snakes, scorpions, and coyotes. About 75% of Nevada's population (2.8 million) resides in Clark County where Las Vegas is located. Northwestern Arizona is only marginally more populous.

That being said, the blame for the move rests clearly on the city of Oakland and the state. The team has tried to get support to build a new stadium in Oakland for several years. When they changed their focus to a move away from Oakland, they had little trouble finding a good deal. Having had the misfortune to attend a game in that stadium, I don't blame Davis for taking this extreme measure. As some other posts have indicated, there are options. The Chargers had to deal with this problem and did not have great options either. Problem with your post is that the Raiders and Chargers both have historically bad ownership. It is no wonder that both of them no longer play where they did. Why should cities be held hostage by terrible owners? The blame rests with them.
