YoloinOhio Posted February 4, 2019 Author Posted February 4, 2019 I’m really looking forward to a punt being shanked into mccovey cove 2
sullim4 Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 I think they would have been better off playing at Sam Boyd Field than sticking around the Bay Area. Lame duck seasons rarely go well - the AFC West games (sans the Chargers) will sell out with opposing fans occupying most seats. Their home schedule is brutal this year - games against Detroit, Cincinnati, and Jacksonville will sell terribly. Add the Chargers to the mix too. Even the great Russ Brandon wouldn't be able to sell tickets to those games. For whatever reason, I didn't realize that the Raiders will be hosting Buffalo in Vegas in 2020.

I know there's a territorial rights thing in baseball that allowed the Giants to stop the A's plan to move to San Jose. Doesn't the NFL have something similar? What's to stop a team from moving to "Oracle" permanently when the Raiders move to Vegas?
SoCal Deek Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 They should’ve done like the Chargers and played in the new brand new San Jose soccer stadium. Put Seats in the open end zone, and boost the capacity a bit. Much better than playing on dirt.

Yeah, it's a good park but as someone said, there's not much room for tailgating. People usually just hit the bars in the neighborhood.
TheFunPolice Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Isn't there a football stadium in Las Vegas? College, high school even?

Not at the table Karlos Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) So the mayor of SF said they should stay in oakland. Said playing at oricle isnt an option. The 49ers dont want them in their territory but are ok with them playing at levis stadium. Makes sense... Edited February 6, 2019 by Not at the table Karlos

Not going to play there They should definitely try and get that first awkward year out of the way and just go play somewhere in Nevada. Maybe Sam Boyd or some college football stadium

TheFunPolice Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Why are they not playing in LV? Makes zero sense

I agree UNLV stadium holds 40K which is enough for one season and they can get a jump start on their fans.
TheFunPolice Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I don't get why LV isn't the plan Might as well get a head start on the fan base

boco357 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Anyone out west have any big backyards? Some money to be made here. Just think its only 10 days! 1
MJS Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I guess they should just skip the season and try for next year.
Just Joshin' Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 The clock is ticking for schedule creation, ticket sales, etc.. This is a disaster in the making for the NFL and has not gotten a lot of attention.
