I don’t have great confidence in our DL coach. And with Kyle gone, we lose that element of mentorship too. I’m not saying that’s a reason to pass on a talent ... but I would be less worried about bringing in a  vet where you already know who he is,  than a raw rookie on the DL. Not every rookie is considered raw though... some are more polished and were more well coached in college than others

Hughes can serve as his tutor on how to draw a personal foul by cursing at the ref at the most inopportune time.

Donald was a far more polished pass rusher than Oliver in college but Oliver to me is still one of the top 3 prospects in this draft. Would love to have him here.

star, harrison and jordan phillips. this definitely wouldn't be a need pick.

Did we sign Jordan Phillips this offseason? I missed that. If so that is a great signing.

I don’t know if any similar transgressions, but he does have a reputation as a guy who doesn’t necessarily give his 110% on the field all the time.  That is worrisome to me.

Why are you making things up? LOL!

I think every defensive-line coach in the country should make a cut-up tape highlighting the effort from Oliver. He never quits on a play. Ever. It is a great lesson for every player at the position. He chases plays 30-40 yards down the field, and then he lines up and goes 100 mph on the very next play. It's a great indicator of the work he puts in during the offseason, as well as the personal drive he possesses. I was told by one of his former teammates that the coaching staff at Houston hands out an effort award after studying the game tape, and Oliver wins that award almost every week.

He's not the pass rusher that Donald is. He needs work on his finishing and his hand work which is two things Aaron Donald is elite elite at but with coaching you'd think he could improve here. He's already an elite run defender and he makes plays behind the line.

Still working on getting it done as far as I know. Strong interest on both sides according to Phillips.

Great talent, I’m not sure he fits the culture this team is trying to build. I would be surprised if we picked him.

Because his coach on the hot seat flipped out on him on the sidelines?

I have heard rumors that the Giants are high on Drew Lock. I am praying this is true, but it is probably draft misdirection. But damn, if they took Lock at 6 it would completely shake up the first round, hopefully in our favor.

The benefit of building a team with a good culture is that you can add a player or two with a sketchy history and count on your team leaders keeping him on the right path.  That being said, aside from some questions about him taking off plays, I never heard much about him being an issue, until his run in with Applewhite.  Everyone deserves a pass, but if it helped him drop to us at 9, we owe Major A. a big thank you.

If the Bills staff feels he fits then I would be all for the pick.

Just wondering where you have seen he takes plays off?  That's the first I heard of this. Thanks

Oliver would be a good pick. Some compare him to Donald but he doesn't have the same strength as Donald and his size is a bit smaller. I still think that he could be an outright great interior pass rusher and at pick 9 would be a risk worth taking as I think the interior pass rush is a more intimidate need than the edge.

None of these guys fit as a 3tech. With that being said i'd rather sign Grady Jarett then draft any of these DT's.

I’d like to see us grab Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama at 9 and then trade back up & grab a WR, either Harry, Brown or Metcalf.

Let’s Go Buffalo!!!!!

I have a feeling we will do something along these lines. Make our pick at 9 and then trade back into the late first for a WR. Good call.

To be honest, I thought I had read that back when he had his run in over the jacket but after searching for it again, I did not see anything to this effect, so I retract that remark.  (the comment may have been more about his "unwillingness" to play through his injury last season thank his effort in games) Certainly from the couple of times I've seen him play, along with the highlight video that is out there, he appears to go full speed and not give up from what I have seen.

He seems like a player who could make a serious impact, as long as his size does not have a negative effect on his play in the NFL.
