I’m good with the Bills taking Risner at 9. There’s 0.01% chance he will be there for our second pick and if they want him and don’t want anyone else to have him, then take him. There’s no such thing as a reach in this scenario.

my favorite receiver is Hakeem Butler, and he’d be my pick in round 2, maybe because we’re so WR deprived, but there’s like 5 or 6 receivers in the draft I would love to have.

Not sure how Bean is going to approach this but Risner will be a Bill. Either trade back pick up some extra picks and draft arisner or draft a stud DL at #9 and then trade back up to the 20s and get Risner also. But I have a very good feeling he will be a Buffalo Bill next year.

I understand the infactuation with Risner but he's not a Nelson type prospect . Yes he's having a great week at the senior bowl but he's not facing anyone there thats projected to go really high in the draft.

I'd much rather take a TE like Tj Hockenson whether it be at pk#9 or trading bk a few selections. TJ is basically a 3 for 1 player as he can be a big part of your passing, rushing & blocking gms. The Bills need difference makers with there high pks in the draft. Olineman seem to always be available via free agency but top talent TEs like Hockenson can only be aquired via the draft. U cant get guys like this in free agency or via trade . I think its a no brainer take the TE and build the oline with mid rd pks that u can develop and free agency.

As much as I love these threads they end up getting me too excited.

The lead up to the draft is like the lead up to Christmas.  However, once it’s done and you have your guys all other options are off the table.

...but man are there some excuses ting players out there.  :w00t:

I’ll go with three WRs:

1. Deebo Samuel

2. Tyre Brady

3. Stanley Morgan

Sounds like the Matt Millen strategy in drafting .. we need OL so those WR's have time to get open

I'm feeling Nick Allegretti from Illinois. He plays with an edge. I'm with the Hakeem Butler team too. Question for all, how many WRs are you OK with the Bills spending draft picks on?

hopefully two/three max we need a fresh influx of talent there with different types of threats needed

and honestly i hope its in the 2nd round where we strike first , I think that's  the sweet spot for receivers.

They asked for a draft crush. He gave 3 different guys at 3 different parts of the draft. The Bills are obviously taking a WR (likely more). Those are the guys that he likes at different portions of the draft for that.

Josh Jacobs but I don't want him in the 1st. My new draft crush for the Bills is TJ Hockenson. Did some research on him last night and I would love him as early as pick 9. TEs are just as important as receivers in the passing game, and with his blocking skills he'd be a big help to our run game too. I know we need receivers but I expect a good WR to be there at our 2nd pick, and Foster and Zay are at least some semblance of a receiving core. At TE we don't have a single starting talent and there isn't much available in free agency. Hockenson fills that need and he would be a huge target for Allen. He's a good blocker, good hands, and very competitive. A little raw but very athletic. I could see McDermott and Beane falling in love with him too. Going off of last year they like athletic freaks in the 1st round.

Hakeem Butler / WR / Iowa St. - I've said it before and I'll say it again, the kid reminds me of AJ Green. At 6'6", 225lbs he is already bigger than any man you put across from him. He has the speed to beat the coverage deep, high-points the ball well, snatches the ball using his hands with ease, knows how to use his body to sheild defenders, and makes the tough catches. That's the guy I want in a Bills uni.

Im crushing on him too.  The AJ Green comparison is spot on too. Right down to the number 18. Imagine Allen with a guy like Butler....

Harrison Phillips was my guy last year and we got him!

I wanted Lee Evans and we got him.

I wanted Erik Flowers and unfortunately the Bills were just as hyped as I was about his East West Shrine game.

I wanted Aaron Smith DE but he went to the Steelers.

I remember wanting Marshawn Lynch after listening to Mayock talk about what he'd add to an offense.

This year I want Dalton Risner.  Perhaps they get Risner then trade back into the first and get Hakeem Butler, WR, the other guy I like.

Just saw a USA Today mock draft which had the Bills trading back to the 15th spot and garnering and extra 2nd round pick.

In the first two rounds, they had the Bills taking:

OT Greg Little
WR Hakeem Butler
WR Marquise Brown

Not too bad. And in their scenario, TE Hockenson was actually still available when they picked Marquise Brown. That's who I'd take instead in this scenario.

He provided 3 names of players he's looked at/like. 2 of them are likely to go after the 3rd round. Pretty sure he wasn't implying they neglect the OL.

That particular guy does more research on these guys than just about anyone on the board.

There's been lots of middle round guys I've liked.  I reaallly wanted the TE Kleinsasser (sp?), but here's some more I remember per year:

2018 - Darnold.  Harrison Phillips.
2017 - Mahomes.
2016 - Shaw Lawson.
2015 - No 1st round pick so lost interest in the draft that year.
2014 - Kahlil Mack.
2013 - Tavon Austin.
2012 - Mark Barron.
2011 - Von Miller.  Nick Fairley.
2010 - CJ Spiller.
2009 - Aaron Curry.
2008 - Keith Rivers.
2007 - Marshawn Lynch.

Change the OT to Cajuste or my boy Tytus Howard and I'm all in, though I honestly believe that the teams in the top-15 that aren't taking QBs will kick themselves down the road if they don't pick from DL talent in round 1.
