Maybe Trump decides to get back to the new normal that includes taking more precautions while we work, and that prevents a lot more deaths from suicide and poverty than we will have from the virus.

Communists haven't ever met a bread line they didn't like.

Wait and see. Trump will reopen the economy in two weeks and he'll accept that the consequences of doing so will mean more people will die.

They'll be making a choice, and it will involve choosing to kill more people than is necessary just to save the stock market.

How do you mean he'll "reopen" the economy?

The individual governors have been, properly, the ones shutting down individual states.  Can't see NYS fully reopening for at least 4 more weeks absolute best case.

This is maddening. I’m not the damn stock market!!  Next week, I have 40 employees  hitting unemployment if we don’t open. I’ve paid them two weeks with NO income coming in. My buddy, a business owner, has 300+ employees he laid off last week and they will NOT have a job until we start normal life again. You want to talk about the financial and psychological impact on those employees??

Hate to say it, but we are trying the best as we can to prevent this virus from killing a large portion of the worlds population, but at some point, we need to cautiously carry on. I believe we are almost there with some of the advances against the virus we have made.

I don't know if we're almost there or not.

I do know that if a single person dies after Trump recommends getting back to work, it will be laid at his doorstep as if he were a murderer and that person's story will be told until early November.

Not yet, but at some point, he could be accused of waiting too long and causing a longer crisis than necessary.

It's all a game to some of these "people" in Washington.  100% of it.

It will take 2-3 weeks for those "advances" to have an impact.

The epidemic in the US will hit its peak in 3-4 weeks. At that point the healthcare system will be completely overwhelmed.

CHOOSING to let more people die than is necessary so that you're not economically inconvenienced is the same damn reason most people get an abortion.

You really have no clue as to the potential economic consequences here, do you?

You know, it is okay if you are ignorant. Just know that when you start typing in a post, much like opening your mouth to speak, your ignorance is on full display.

You really have no clue as to the economic cost of being a 20 year old female, making minimum wage who unexpectedly got pregnant.

Let's accept that more old people need to die than is necessary to "save the economy", but if a young female decides to end a life because it will  affect their personal finances and she doesn't have the financial resources to take care of that child, that's unacceptable.

The hypocrisy is laughable.

You can't be pro life and accept that old people need to die so that your stock portfolio isn't inconvenienced.

So, if a majority decided retroactive abortion was moral, you'd have no problem being aborted? Great!

If a majority decides retroactive abortion is moral and legal, then I have a few nominees...

I am actually pro choice (up to 20 weeks), pro death penalty, and I don't believe we should allow our economy to collapse over this virus.

You are like a hysterical child.

Me too on all three!

Many aren't though.

Many who are going to push reopening the economy on right wing news outlets over the coming weeks and thus voluntarily allowing more people to die than is necessary believe abortion at any stage should be a crime.

My comment is directed at them.

While debating this and other issues we need to keep in mind that there's a difference between wishing something to be and what actually is. In other words, that's the difference between liberals and conservatives.

You mean the 20 year old pregnant female I have to lay off this week because my business is about to fold with no money coming in?  Yes, she won't have a job to come back to.  I've burned through all my money.  I've invested very little in the stock market, but I have invested substantial sums into my small business, and here I am.  Once this clears, I will be competing for jobs against her and thousands of others, trying to get back on my feet.

Poor Planned Parenthood didn’t get any of that Coronavirus stimulus moolah … who’s gonna kill all those unborn babies now?

I’m so sorry. Your funding was originally in there but it was expensive and inconvenient, so they chose to abort it in the final trimester.

FYI:  You and your employees get the "relief checks" just like the rest of us...............you don't need deserve more.

Congress (both sides) won't bite the hand that feeds them, but I'd seriously like to see a prohibition on campaign/political contributions for any entity that receives government funding, as a condition for receiving the public funds.

this is really bad and misinformed.  Even the conservatives on the site will agree with that

Charlie Kirk certainly put his own slant on things. WTF does he think he is, a trial lawyer?
