HappyDays Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 This is a pretty weird report to put out now. They could pick up his 5th year option in 2021 before signing him to any kind of long term contract. That's 3 more years before they have to worry about it. How could anyone possibly know what that contrract will look like? 1

Itd be relatively easy to project “top tier qb” in the 2020 offseason. At least to a ball park. His play will likely effect guarantees but outside drastic surprise it shouldn’t be crazy to put pencil estimates together.

Beast Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Probably good Ralph Wilson is no longer the owner of the team. I don’t know if his pockets would have been deep enough if Allen turns out to be a good one. 1
aristocrat Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 I mean his contract is going to be similar percentage wise based on other qb contracts. Chiefs need to keep surrounding the kid with talent on both sides of the ball to keep winning. I read there is a propsal to actually keep the qbs contracts separate from the rest of the cap which is interesting.

La Canfora reported that Pegula badly wanted Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who the Chiefs selected with the Bills' No. 10 pick. " Edited January 20, 2019 by Real McCoy

Whaley wasn’t running tha draft and if Pegula badly wanted Mahomes the we would have taken him. Basically, LaCanfora is really bad 3

Doug Whaley broke his silence after being fired three weeks ago. Some would say he shouldn’t have. Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio (via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com), Whaley made this claim regarding the trade that saw the Bills drop from No. 10 in round one to No. 27: “As a parting gift, we left them with two [first-round picks] next year.” " https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/05/22/doug-whaley-claims-credit-for-parting-gift-of-two-first-round-picks/ These are the actual facts of what the owner and former GM have said. I'm more inclined to actually believe that Dougie was fired directly after the draft for not taking a QB by Pegula. Whaley was in charge of the draft based off what he stated 3 weeks after being fired. He had zero to hide or lie about. Why people say that Doug had no control of that draft is 100% incorrect in my mind when our Owner and former GM have stated otherwise. Either way, there is absolutely nothing that can be done now except to root for JA. Edited January 20, 2019 by Real McCoy

Pegula knew he was firing Whaley before the draft even started. No way he’s going to let him make the decisions at that point. Edited January 20, 2019 by Bangarang
