NFL.com is reporting that DeSean Jackson wants out of Tampa.  At 32, does he have any tread left?

He did have a great start to season with Fitzmagic at QB (275 yards and 3 TDS first two games). Although injuries have been a factor recently, has only one 1000 yard season the last four years, and averages 4 TDs a season; I think he can thrive with a QB that can stretch the field.  Bringing him on with Allen could provide a similar spark. He averaged 19 yards per catch last season.

Here is an article from 2016 when DeSean said he missed playing with Shady.

I think if he does hit the market Shady will make a strong play for him.  Having Shady and DeSean would be an interesting combo with Allen in his 2nd Year and more confident in the offense.

The price and term would have to be right though.

Thoughts?

Honestly I'm not 100% that Shady will be back next year so if he is going to make a strong play for a player it might have to just be for himself.

Look...they said Shady was in the plans for 2019 gotdammit!   Are you down with the process or not?!

Hey Chuck......we got a lotta' non-billievers out there!

I sure hope not.

For decades now the Bills have tried similar gimmicks/shortcuts to build a strong team, and it always FAILS.

-There are no shortcuts to good drafting, and intelligent coaching.

Does hit fit the culture.  I remember when the Bills brought James Lofton in from the Raiders.  Not sure os his age when they did that.

Both McD and Beane said Shady was in their future for next season. With all that cap space and one year left on his contract I don’t see that changing.

Give Shady an Oline and passing game and he may return to form.

This was my 1st thought after reading the OP. Lofton was a good and deep complement for Reed during 90 esp, even on the backside of his career. That said, I still can’t bring myself to consider this possibility as that much to be excited about, probably bc of Shadys recent history and DeSean’s age, diva streaks.

He’s the perfect missing link for this offense.

He can make plays and stretch the field.

Dont care about his age or what’s left in the tank. Signing him doesn’t change the draft strategy or free agency at all.

But he could be a huge add to the offense for a year or two

Bills have also tried for decades to load up on high motor lunch pail guys and ship off our studs and it always FAILS.

If he doesn't return to form, the Bills have expensive sub par backfield again. I am still hoping they decide to go a different direction but if they do keep Shady I hope they have a better plan b in place.

DJax doesn't seem like a guy our coaches would be interested in.  He'd probably become a headache when he didn't get the ball as much as he'd like.

I'd much rather they target John "Smokey" Brown, who probably would've had a 1,200 yard, 8 TD season if not for Lamar Jackson.  And you never heard a peep out of John Brown about it.

Lofton was 33 when he joined the Bills.

I think there are better options out there for the Bills, but I wouldn't be against adding DeSean Jackson. A veteran player who can still stretch the field would seem to fit the offense.
