I was sceptical when when they hired him at the age of 31 (I think) but the more I learn about him the more I think this guy is a very special coach. Already one of the best.. I promise you though, wp, that he will be out of the NFL and out of coaching sometime in the next 35 years. 1

He has the deadly combination of lack of self awareness and stubbornness. Anyone is an upgrade over that. Some Browns player described him as Michael Scott. That seemed perfect to me 1 1

Cheektowaga Chad Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 The new nfl coaching trend.....hire an offensive coordinator and give him the label of head coach
billieve420 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Taylor was probably the cheapest coach Brown could find so he is happy. 1

BuffaloBillies Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I live out here in Cincinnati now. Bengals will screw this up. Not sure how just yet, they keep inventing new ways year after year. 1

But he was OC at UC a couple years ago so there is that. ? Must be a really good interviewer. And he’s connected with Sean McVay on LinkedIn so They are clearly prioritizing a guy who has a lot of experience working directly with the quarterback. Seems like a good trait to have as a HC.
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 As someone who loves the trend of bring young offensive coaches, this is going too far. Especially on that team of scumbags.

He might be good but at some point you want to ensure a guy isn’t totally in over his head. And experience working with QBs isn’t equal to accomplishment. Edited January 11, 2019 by YoloinOhio
whatdrought Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 This seems like a silly hire, but it’s still way better of a hire than any of us expected from the Bengals. so... good job?.... I guess? 1

Gugny Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 If one of these underqualified head coach hires works out, I bet Byron Leftwich ends up getting a HC gig next year. So far 7/8 hires have been white.

LSHMEAB Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Saw him on the cover of TigerBeat a couple times. Seems like a nice enough kid. Not sure about his ability to coach a football team.
