Halloween Land Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 What 2019 movies are you most excited about? For me this is one:
EersN'Bills Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) Jordan Peele's new movie Us looks insanely creepy. I don't normally care for horror movies but I loved Get Out. Can't wait for this one. Edited January 9, 2019 by EersN'Bills

eball Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Can't wait for Glass. Prepared for it last weekend watching Unbreakable (really underrated movie, IMO) and Split again. 1
Buffalo_Gal Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Jumanji 3! They are filming this month and releasing around Christmas... not sure if they can meet the deadline, but I hope they do. Dwayne Johnson ? ?? I'll go see the last Avengers and Star Wars, but I can't say I am excited about either one. And Frozen 2 is the first time I am glad I do not have grandchildren. Frozen was horrible. I am not certain I could sit through a sequel (although Lion King and Aladdin look intriguing!)
thebandit27 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Aside from Episode IX, not much. Probably my most anticipated is John Wick: Chapter 3; those movies are fun I'd like to be more excited about Alita: Battle Angel, because I think Robert Rodriguez is great and it has a good cast, but early looks are uninspiring. Maybe Tarantino will pull off a solid with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood--the cast is dynamite, but he's gone way too far into shock-and-awe theater lately. I'll also throw a nod out to Joker. I'll watch anything that start Joaquin Phoenix, and maybe Todd Phillips can go more Very Bad Things and less Hangover Sequels on this one. Lastly, I've pounded the table for a live-action He Man film, and it looks like we're finally going to get one in Masters of the Universe come December.
Nextmanup Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) I don't think it will come out in 2019, and it's not a theatrical cinematic release, but I am dying over here waiting for HBO's "Masters of the Air" to finally make it to TV. It's going to be a "Band of Brothers" type miniseries with 10 parts focusing on the aerial bombing campaign over Europe in WWII. Been in development forever. Last I heard it was expected to be on TV in 2020 or 2021. Edited January 10, 2019 by Nextmanup

Sick. Add that to my list. The animated She Ra show on Netflix sucked ass.
LeGOATski Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Guillermo del Toro and Andre Ovredal
The Real Buffalo Joe Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Rocketman. Interesting reboot that looks like they took it in a different direction. Instead of being an idiot astronaut, they're making him a flamboyant piano player. Also, instead of the main character being called Fred Z. Randall, they're calling him Elton something. Should be interesting. 1

Looks like a thoroughly uninspired choice for the titular character: https://www.thewrap.com/noah-centineo-he-man-masters-of-the-universe/

I love Will Smith and wonder how he will do as the genie although Robin Williams IS the genie. I loved Aladdin as a kid so it will be really fun to go with my wife and kid. 1

I realize that--despite being the titular character--he's probably the least important casting in the film, but man, that really bursts my bubble when I was hoping for a Dwayne Johnson-type.
KD in CA Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 It was a 2018 movie, but I just watched Free Solo.....that was pretty wild.
