Good concentration.  Also, a cold weather receiver.

Warren Moon and Cookie Gilchrist for starters.

Yeah they are the two you would start with, with Wake not far behind. Wake almost signed with Buff out of BC Lions but the Dolphins 4/3 was thought to a better fit for him.

Back in Cookie's day there really wasn't so huge a difference between NFL/CFL play, and maybe as late as when Cousineau or Johnny Rogers went north of the border out of school. But the NFL is now a much bigger, better organized league than it was back then so that the gap between the two leagues is now enormous. I think Wake once had like 23 sacks one year. Fact remains though that there are always a few players there who can help an NFL team and Williams could well be one of them. Nothing wrong with the CFL being like a triple A franchise to NFL teams.

He seems like a pretty exciting prospect, maybe like a Brandon Marshall type skill set.  I am hoping we shore up the WR position mostly through FA (or trade) so we can enter the draft and target maybe someone like Fant at TE in the first (even better if its a trade down) or OL and then TE in the 2nd.

I don't want anything to do with this guy after Mia Khalifa put him on blast.  That weak dick game stuff might fly in Canada.  The NFL is an A1 league.

Yes, we all know he was in the wrong and shouldn't be DMing porn stars but he did and got exposed for having weak dick game.  If you're into that kind of thing, then god bless, but I find it hard to believe that some sub A1 dick game having Safety is going to solve our problems at WR.

The man was an Eskimo.  I don't think Mia accounted for shrinkage.

And in Canada, I believe they call it an "eh"1 dick game.

I wish him well, but this is literally the most attention the NFL has ever paid to him in his career.

Apparently he was generating interest after his breakout 2018, so the Bills were early. To me he's like Juwan Johnson, a talented guy with potential worth a 4th or 5th round pick - except we didn't have to burn a pick. I also give him some credit for starring in a pro league, even if it's not the bigs.

Does not seem to have McBeane type of character either.

Why do most think McDermott and Beane are looking for choir boys?  They don't care if guys have had trouble in the past, they are not just looking for "high character" Marv Levy guys, they are looking for team players.  If they think he will mesh in the locker room, they will give him a chance.  That doesn't mean they won't drop him off like a bad habit if he gets in trouble off the field, but "The process" is not about putting together a team of "good guys", it's about putting together a team.

By laying the foundation that they have ("The Process"), they have created an environment to bring in guys like this.  I am sure they did their homework on him, and it seems from the reports from the CFL that he has changed.  They are giving him a chance here, and it could be a home run.  If it doesn't work, he will be gone.  Similar to the Corey Coleman situation.  It's like the old adage about a rising tide lifts all boats... he will either rise to the occasion and contribute, or he will be gone before the season starts.

Not trying to argue but their actions have been the opposite of everything you said so far in my opinion. This move reeks of desperation. I think this guy will be long gone before they get to training camp.

Having said that and much more that's in this thread, moves like this are not what is going to build a playoff-competitive team, namely raiding the CFL and waiver-wire.  We've gottan a few good players that way on McBeane's watch, aka "The Process," but thus far not one that has become an impact player.

Most of their big-money free-agent have whiffed.  Benjamin, Lotulolei, both not unsurprisingly from Carolina are among the most prominent.  Hyde's been good and adequate at S but I wouldn't put him in the impact-player category.

Offensively they've provided almost nothing for the future, and defensively the core of the D and the players that put up the closest thing to impact play that we have, with the exception of White who was streaky this season and Edmunds, were A, already here, and B, some on the cusp of retiring or already have.

Williams, Lorax (36 next season), and Hughes (31) logged over half the team's sacks.  Lawson is next with 4 for 22.5 of the team's 36.  Besides Edmunds the rest are completely insignificant in the long-term and Edmunds was a draft pick, not a free-agent.

Their best moves have been via the Draft, just not enough of them, and that's where playoff-competitive teams are built.  Last season they turned 4 day-1 and day-2 picks along with the 1st pick in the 3rd round into two players when they could've had Edmunds with the 12th overall.  Not a very efficient use of their picks, but if Allen works out, as he had better for their sakes, then it'll have been worth it.

Either way, they have one pick in each of the first three rounds this season, given all of their needs, I don't see how they get it done in time to save their careers in Buffalo.  Unless Allen breaks out like no QB that the Bills have ever had, I don't see "The Process" ending well at all.
