Robert Foster ended the season as the 7th leading rookie WR in terms of receiving yards with 541 yards.

Since week 10, Foster had the most yards receiving of ANY rookie WR with 511, even though some of the other played an extra game during that timerame since they already had their bye. The next closest was DJ Moore in CAR with 491, and then Date Pettis in SF with 371 yards followed by Calvin Ridley in ATL with 358 yards.

Even more impressive?

Since week 10, Foster had the 15th most receiving yards of ANY WR in the entire NFL(rookie or not--see below), slightly behind Michael Thomas in NO and slightly ahead of Alshon Jeffery in Philly...both of them also played in 8 games in that timeframe to Foster's 7.

He also led the entire NFL in both YPC and Yards/Target, making his catch rate of 71.4% in that time span even more impressive...

We might have something pretty special in Foster...can't wait to see how this tandem does with a full season...not bad for a UDFA that was cut during the season and brought back to the Practice Squad and then the active roster...

And Zay was 37th, putting him where one would expect -- a high level WR2.

Crazy that Foster only had 2 less catches than Zay but Zay had almost 20 more targets...

Based on how Zay is trending I'm optimistic for him next year.

Aside from the over 20 yards per reception average, the fact that he's catching 71% of those receptions makes that an amazing feat.

If we do get a true #1...Foster could be a nightmare as a #2.

If we find a true #1 through FA’cy or the draft this could be a pretty solid trio of “starters” (in quotes because while 3 receiver sets are very common now, traditionally only 2 wr’s start).  Imagine that Croom also continues to develop into a true threat at TE.

What also sticks out a little is that Zay Jones is tied for 2nd with 6 TDs receptions over that period of time.

The league lead was 7.

I believe he may have had 31 receptions in the second half of the season, as well.

Unrelated to foster, but how does pro football reference (who I like and use often) have mike Williams (#40) as playing for San Diego?  I know I still mess that up but I don’t run a website.

I may be in the minority, but I believe Foster has the potential to be a quality #1 receiver in this league. He's not just running go routes. He's running a pretty full route tree and producing week after week.

Between the emergence of Foster, Zay Jones, and McKenzie, WR is much less of a pressing need in the offseason. Still a need, sure, but probably firmly below OL and TE now.

The other stat that jumps out to me is the 71% target conversion rate. That is ridiculously good, especially considering that so many of his targets were downfield ones. It also says a great deal about Josh Allen's perceived inaccuracy.

If we can find one more quality receiver (in addition to Foster and Zay) who is ideally a large target and can actually run precise routes and make contested catches, I think we are in business.

Whom would you prefer they list his team as?

Kid always had talent. He was a legitimate 5* recruit... he just shouldn’t have went to Bama... though the Daboll connection may have saved us

Sometimes the right coaching + QB can turn the lights on... he was always physically gifted... he just was always hurt and never found his rhythm

Now he has a budding connection with Allen and that can only mean positive things for the future

Yeah, now I only see a need for perhaps 2 WR.  Back in September we were pretty sure that we were going to have to start from scratch for that platoon.  The draft has gotten a lot more flexible now.  If all turns out well we will have the pleasant headache of giving Foster a big contract perhaps after the 2019 if he continues to pick up momentum.
