IBTG81 Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I just got done watching O Brother Where Art Thou (great fuggin movie), and this song is stuck in my head. Has anyone actually listened to all of the lyrics? Man, it's a depressing song.
millbank Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Artist: Norman Blake Lyrics Song: You are My Sunshine Lyrics The other night dear, as I lay sleeping I dreamed I held you in my arms But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken So I hung my head and I cried. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away I'll always love you and make you happy, If you will only say the same. But if you leave me and love another, You'll regret it all some day: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away You told me once, dear, you really loved me And no one else could come between. But not you've left me and love another; You have shattered all of my dreams: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away In all my dreams, dear, you seem to leave me When I awake my poor heart pains. So when you come back and make me happy I'll forgive you dear, I'll take all the blame. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away
VABills Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I used to sing that to my daughter to put her asleep when she was little. Now she hates the song, and I sing it to annoy her.

IDBillzFan Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Negativo. 288450 You didn't use this word around the girl...did you, Ed-O?
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I thought the movie was funny. Ethan and Joel Cohen flick. Didn't get the rave that Fargo got... The soundtrack on the other hand... Simply AWESOME! Didn't Alison Kraus win a Grammy some years back?????
IBTG81 Posted March 27, 2005 Author Posted March 27, 2005 You didn't use this word around the girl...did you, Ed-O? 288467 Nada.
TheMadCap Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 My brother thinks I'm insane because I forced him to listen to the soundtrack. Gospel music, and the old time country it spawned are about the only good thing to come out of religion...
Mr Info Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Good line from this movie: "It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart." Ed, take note.
Pete Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 Great film and an awesome soundtrack. I have it on my Ipod. Cohn brother films are all brilliant(with the exception of Intolerable Cruelty IMO). Barton Fink is the most underrated film of all time. Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lewbowski, Millers Crossing, Hudsucker Proxy, Blood Simple, Brother Where Art Though are all classics
IDBillzFan Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 You know what you need Ed? A roll in some posse.
Tux of Borg Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 You know what you need Ed? A roll in some posse. 288581 He needs a t-shirt that says, "I hit rock bottom at TBD."
