Livinginthepast Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 If he is a mentor for Josh, then great. But I never want to see him play a down again. Why not sign him as QB coach instead? Better for all concerned!

NewEra Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 People are actually crying about this? Of course they are. People cry about everything
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Hope this doesn't come to be but.... Not sure if Anderson actually wants to play at all, so could see if say halfway through the year or so if Barkley or Allen were to get hurt, that would make Anderson the #2 guy by default. Could see them instead cutting him and signing someone else. This deal was made to help Allen's development. During the off-season, training camp etc, can see that being a big help. By next Nov or so, not sure there'd be as much benefit so could see them moving on if they need another QB.

/dev/null Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I doubt Anderson makes the 53 man roster. He was signed to mentor Allen in the off season and Training Camp and will serve as a camp arm for preseason garbage time. 1

Call it camp fodder more or less. bodies fly in and out during camp.

Nothing they do surprises me, so Anderson on the 53 is definitely a possibility. Based on their love for anything Carolina, and the way the QB situation played out in 2018, I suspect Derek does.
ColoradoBills Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Didn't see anyone posting his 2019 contract numbers. 1.1 million with 90k guaranteed. Has a aged vet cap discount, his cap hit is 735k for 2019. With $'s this low anything can happen with him between now and next September. 90k for his mentor services thru the summer is cheap.
