We also could NOT tackle him a few months ago. Jags fell off as a whole this year and bortles is garbage. That is the real problem there He averaged 3.9 ypc and can’t catch the ball. He doesn’t suck but he isn’t a rb you spend a top 5 pick on. 4

Let's not downplay what Nick Mullens did through the air for the Niners Rosen was not a threat to beat anyone with his arm this year and teams knew that: 4 games over 200 yards, 6 games under 150. MAriota's passing game was 29th in yards and 31st in attempts. Not threatening... Bad as Bortles is perceived to be, he had 4 games over 300 yards in 12 starts. Nick Mullens had some moments but in half his starts, he had as many or more INTs as TDs.

I kinda figured they'd keep him even if it's just out of pride considering where they drafted him.

Turk71 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I wouldn't want that a-hole head case on my team. One of the most overrated rbs in the league imo.

That is the real problem there To be fair, Gurley wasn’t good his 2nd year either after being a beast his rookie year. Not saying he is the same level as Gurley, but a bad OL and a bad QB makes the job of the RB very hard. Rams rebuilt the OL, added 3 new good WRs, a second TE threat and had their rookie QB take a big leap forward all heading into Gurleys 3rd season and he was a beast again. So anyone dismissing him this soon is crazy. However, the bigger concern is his injury history. He’s a good RB trapped on a limp offense, but he can’t stay on field consistently enough. Agree and I won’t give up on hmm. He just doesn’t have the burst or versatility that I want from a modern rb. Imo, a rb now needs to be a guy who can be a good receiver as well. The Jags still think this is the 1960s football. 1
stuvian Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 if the Jags drop him they'll be the next 0 - 16 team. They have nothing else. He still has value and would be a great cold weather player. After we'd had the likes of OJ, Travis Henry and Willis McGahee I can't believe all the moralizing about character at RB.

It’s not like he’s a total bum in the passing game just cause he’s not hunt/kamara

Fournette is leagues better than Trent. Literally. He'll last far longer in the NFL than Trent's 3-4 year rapid outting. Trent isn't NFL talent. Dude can't even run straight.. through a hole. His lack of ball carrier vision was mind boggling. Fournette's got injury and attitude issues. But he at least belongs. No way he's out of the NFL for lack of talent in the near future. Probably drafted too high, but that's where the comparison ends. At the very worst he'll carve out a Blount-like journeyman role to any team that needs a strong cheap plug in their running game as a 1-3 year's rental. He's more Blount 2.0

Coach wants All -IN players, not self centered ones. You can have problems but not football problems.
