TigerJ Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Tremain Edmunds had a pretty significant impact today. One thing I noticed was that he didn't seem to be trying for huge collisions. He hust wrapped people up. Tyhat doesn't bother me at all. In fact with the tendency of officials to call personal foul and roughing penalties so frequently, maybe simply wrapping a guy up is the smarter way to go. I was happy that Zay Jones had a pretty big day. Hopefully it shows that he has the potential to be a factor in the passing game. It also may be evidence in Josh Allen's ability to spread the ball around. I didn't really look at what kind of coverage Miami had on Foster, but maybe they shaded coverage more toward him since he's been the bigger factor recently. If so, it shows Allen is willing to take what the defense is giving him and reading who has single coverage.

Your first sentence you said he seemed like the same old Josh. How can that be if he had his best game? I do agree he needs to work on his slant patterns, and the pick was a classic rookie misread.

I don’t understand why people assume saying someone is there same old self, that means it’s negative. If I said we were signing Aaron Rodgers and we were getting the same old guy he was in Green Bay, I’d be pumped

The Firebaugh Kid Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) @Virgil hear me out here...but the slants to Zay...throwing to the back shoulder allowed him to plant his foot, turn, and gain way more yardage each time. Could they be throwing it that way on purpose? Ive never seen it before, but just wondering... He had a slant to Foster I believe that was downright dreadful tho. Some fin was pulling his helmet down the whole time and he was pushing back, certainly not an ejectable offense. I saw the same thing. Maybe something happened before that wasn’t shown on TV? I think we will have a better idea of why really happens when fines are handed out in the coming week. I would like to see Mills not get fined ANYTHING. 1

You’re out there playing against a team that has given up, stop jumping around taking selfies like you won something. Bleh. I agree White interception celebration was classless!

I’m happy to be wrong, I don’t think I am. The DB gave us a cushion and there wasn’t a LB shading to the inside. Now, the TD to Zay worked out because Zay’s adjustment to the bad throw allowed him to pivot, reverse field and score. The other two were also crap throws that killed the flow of the play. I can accept bad throws here and there, but those were really bad and consistently bad. Almost like he has a problem executing them 1 minute ago, noacls said: I agree White interception celebration was classless! It’s a game of passion and emotion. My guess is that Allen has never been asked to throw slants and so many underneath routes (ever) in his brief college QB career with coaches drooling over his arm strength, but I think that this was the plan going in today. Daball, knowing that Miami would take a page out of Belichick's game plan, knew they would focus on containing Josh after what he did to them the first time (NE did that better), take away the deep routes (playing off our receivers), and only allow the quick reads in front of coverage. I think Daboll is perfectly aware that Josh needs to work on his short game and used a somewhat meaningless game to do just that. Now they have more film and can go to work with him this offseason on pre-snap reads and improving the mechanics on those slants and the touch on those swing and wheel routes.

Cheektowaga Chad Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 The word culture gets thrown around a lot since McDermott took over in my opinion but today showed just how its changing A little over a year ago gronk went after tre white and the team didnt do a thing in a game that had already been decided. Today the team went crazy when Josh Allen was hit by kiko and the game was still to be determined That's the culture that is changing. This team is going to fight. I look forward to next year 1

thebandit27 Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Tell ya what I liked about Allen's game today: it was his first game facing a team for the 2nd time, and he lead the offense to 42 points. You always want to know how a QB will perform once coordinators have tape on him, so while it's a minuscule sample space, it's an encouraging sign 3

If that’s what keeps them going and helps us destroy the fish, go for it There was a linebacker inside and if the pass is in front of Jones Miami's #28 has him lined up for a de-cleater. I cannot say with certainty that Josh did not throw it where he did to give Zay a chance to avoid what would be certain destruction from a defenseless position. The linebacker should have dropped back a bit and taken away that throwing lane, but was a non-factor and took him self out of the play seeming more concerned with keeping Allen in the pocket. After that Zay did a good job of reversing the field and getting the ball over the goal line. Another earlier slant to Josh's left seemed to be right on target, but I think there was another to his right later in the game that was definitely behind, so mostly conjecture on my part with the Zay throw.

Its being up for a game when it means nothing in terms of playoffs. Steelers Ravens is a rivalry as they both usually are playing to win the division.
