switz1610 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 CBD is technically a legal substance as of the signing of the 2018 Farm Bill. This bill allows for industrial hemp production which, broadly, allows for all cannabis products with less than .3% THC. 1

I will post once in this thread but most CBD oil is so poorly produced it contains a lot of THC and you're Essentially just getting high. I'm terrified of what will happen to kids who are being given it by negligent parents

I had a blast weaning off morphine from hospital visits for chronic pain 23 years ago. I avoid any drug at all unless totally necessary. For a broken foot ten years ago I turned down the 8 different opioids my Doc effortlessly recommended, I could deal with the pain. i reject dental freezing for surface cavity work.
BUFFALOKIE Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 My 65 yr old mother lost her right leg, above the knee, due to complications during a knee surgery 2.5 years ago... two months before her planned retirement. She has suffered tremendously physically, and even more so mentally and emotionally. She used to be the strongest person anyone in our family and circle of friends ever knew. She was our rock. Now addicted to opioids, over the last two years, she had devolved to "just waiting to die". I have given her weed and e-joints to help with pain and depression (she is a child of the 60s, so not a new thing for her). But...my step dad brought her CBD oil from Hawaii and it has made a huge difference in her! Two drops under ther tongue, as often as she wishes. She swears that her pain is reduced. Everyone else has noticed an improvement in her emotions. She has cut her narcotics intake drastically and seems happier than she has been in a long time. She also partakes in smoking a pinch hit from time to time, and loves it. True story. 1 1

I don't think it's because they're stupid and reckless. When you are sick, you will do ANYTHING to feel better, anything to alleviate the pain. I'm bipolar and many of the symptoms I experience are very similar to what NFL players go through: irritability, depression, anxiety, mood swings etc. CBD and maybe a little bit of smoke takes all those things away. I do the CBD when I have to go to work or drive and I smoke when I'm home and in for the night. Works for me. I'd like to see the NFL do some research on this topic. This. I personally have a card because if seizures and it works wonders. Cbd during work and the day and leaf occasionally when I get home and use it as a night cap. I had 2 seizures in a year and got prescribed. Have not had one in 3 years. Its about time the NFL looks into this as a real remedy. These guys are beat up and aching everywhere. This issue to me is small peanuts compared to the domestic violence issue in the NFL, althought that is a much bigger and harder iasue to deal with. 1

Obviously marijuana is banned by the NFL, but I've wondered for quite some time if football players smoke because it relieves symptoms of CTE. Do any of you think this is possible? It would be pretty tragic if the NFL banned a substance that could benefit their players mental health, especially with something as serious as CTE. I know weed helps treat a myriad of illnesses from bipolar disorder all the way down to arthritis and inflammation. Could marijuana benefit players and should the NFL take it off its banned substances list? It would be a shame if the NFL was taking away something that could be beneficial to its players. Do you guys think weed could actually help the NFL? Thoughts? I think most players smoke it for cultural purposes and probably aren't aware of any benefits, though it probably does help with overall pain relief. Could it be used to treat CTE symptoms? Probably! Pot is going to be legal everywhere in this country soon enough. 1

You can’t smoke in almost any social environment.

I had to look up "palliative". Appropriate term for CBD/THC, I suppose. I love, but miss the stuff. I admit it does nothing but mask the problem. Same as any painkiller or anxiety/depression drug...albeit with fewer detrimental side effects or addiction concerns.
