http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001004510/article/nfl-head-coach-candidates-names-to-know-for-this-hiring-cycle

So I’m reading this article on NFL.com for head coaching candidates.  They basically name a ton of candidates, some of which probably won’t get any interviews.  So take it for what it’s worth.  But they list Leslie Frazier as a potential candidate for Bills HC:

Leslie Frazier, Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator, 59: Longtime NFL assistant was 21-32-1 with one playoff appearance in Minnesota (2010-13). Brings a calming presence. Interviewed with the Colts in February.”

Ironically they don’t mention Brian Daboll who some have speculated could interview for openings this season.  They did reference former Bills DC George Edwards who currently is the DC in Minnesota (though Zimmer runs the defense.). I just remember that George’s defense in Buffalo was absolutely terrible and unlike Minnesota, he was the only one calling the plays.  Chan’s loyalty to stick with George a year longer than he should have was a big factor in his failure in Buffalo.  Pretty confident George is not a HC in 2019:

George Edwards, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator, 51: Biggest factor working against him is Mike Zimmer calls the defense. Plays a big role in game plan. Interviewed with the Bears a year ago and impressed.

There are some names that I think will be legit contenders and others that I’m not quite sure are on the list.

I don’t believe it but if it happened I wouldn’t care. Daboll seems fully invested with Allen so I’d be a little disappointed if he left. McD/Frazier are one in the same in my eyes.

I agree regarding Daboll and Allen.  For whatever negatives people have about Daboll, Allen having a 2nd season with the same OC would be huge for his development.

Unfortunately true.

I don’t have the fire to be preaching on moving on from Coach McDermott like I did with Juaron or Galley.  McDermott is likeable ...but...there are enough things that went wrong and trends in other directions that if you did it...it would completely defendable.

I would say McDermott is far greater at running a defense than Frazier will ever be.

Who mentioned Daboll?  Our offense is ranked 31st which isn't that far below his average in previous stints as OC.  Try selling that to your fan base.

He will definitely get interviewed for head coaching jobs. To meet the rule that forces teams to interview at least one minority HC candidate. I’m a fan of Leslie Frazier. I really hope he stays.

Have you read the board? The fan base is generally sold.

I have and they're cutting Daboll way too much slack.  Outside of Buffalo though, I don't see any other owner even having him on their radar.  Just because you spent a lot of time with Belichick and Saban means you're head coaching material.
