Well what else were they supposed to do oldman?

They benched Tyrod Taylor for Nate Peterman, so you couldn't throw him back out there as a starter and build around him.

What's the road-block now? They should have everything - the Coach, the QB, the Culture, the Cap-Space, the Owner's backing - what's the barrier to real winning next season?

Everyone knew they were going to draft their franchise QB and they did.  Don't be deliberately ignorant.  Now what do they have to do?  Get some linemen to protect him and a decent WR and/or TE.  Again you know this so stop being an idiot.

Yeah.

Not good enough.

They go 6-10 and McDermott is 20-27 in 3 years.

The bar should be 10 wins.

Thsts asking a lot after what I saw yesterday

need WRs who have a 67 percent success rate on catching passes that hit them right in the center of their hands first

then they have to learn to make catches that are impressive

I'm not being an idiot, but is the "we need lineman and wide receivers" mantra going to be the built-in excuse for 2019 if they fail?

Because it shouldn't be, that's what I'm saying.

It's time for McDermott to get it done and stop saying he needs to review the tape.

I thought McDermott was drilling and making them practice everything? Where is the progress? I think two years to play around with the roster is being patient. Year 3 needs to be a jump forward in winning. Not 6-10, not 5-11 but losing close.

They have 10 draft picks and a boat load of cap.

You don't need 5 new WR's, you need two.

They need a RB and starting Tight End.

You don't need HOFers on the outside, but you need a varied skill set.

I won’t worry about it

hope they improve next year

a million miles away from serious contending right now

Jim Kelly, developed as a pro when he arrived, took a third year to get to the playoffs in town

Great man, that was over 30 years ago now.

And how do you explain the Browns?

0-16, to 7-7-1 and riding a 3-game win streak with a rookie QB and a HC/OC change right in the middle of the season to a guy who's never called plays?

Years of atrocious drafting.

The bar is so low we're tripping over it here.

6-10 would be get the pink slips ready next season.

I really can’t believe the 3 year re-build plan for the Bills will have much success in 2019.  Regardless of 10 draft picks and $90 mil in cap space it doesn’t make sense.

Realistically we need new, quality;   O Lineman (3), WR (3), RB (2), LB (1), TE (1), DB (1), DL (1)

That’s 12 total to be competitive!!

We’re going to have to over-pay for quality, top tier free-agents to come to Buffalo.  We all know the risks with drafts picks in their rookie seasons (Zay Jones, Teller, McCloud and even Edmunds).  It just doesn’t happen.

I love believing in the PROCESS but with a young, raw QB who is still unproven while trying to blend a plethora of new players into a competent NFL team seems unrealistic.  It may sell tickets but not win a lot of games.

GO BILLS!

Flip side- if allen is the dude,  hitting that list perfectly become far less essential

If we have an equally poor line and WR group, then yes, it would be a good reason that they might fail again in 2019, why wouldn't it be?

I don't think the plan was 3 years necessarily. I'm willing to bet even if we finish with 6 or 7 wins next year, McDermott will remain the coach. Carolina was pretty bad for a while after they drafted Newton. I think McDermott will be our longest tenured coach since levy to be honest

I think they will need to see some type of progress, even if the record isn't great, in order for McDermott to stay on past 2019.

Chicago turned it around with essentially a single player this year.

Cleveland is on year 3 of a complete rebuild and has been competitive this year.

I think we're more on the path of the Rams, who turned it around with an influx of offensive talent over 3 years.

We're a few top players away, but we have resources to make serious strides in 2019.

This is happening for us.

They need to bring better guys in.  And you need to quit sounding off only inweekscwhen they may not have done that well.  We never see you here after a win

Bills have about the fewest players under contract for 2019. Lots of holes to fill,or,opportunities for improvement. 10 picks, tons of cap money, they will fill out the roster but have to be smart. It will affect chemistry but dont give up on all the young guys already on the roster.

I know this is sarcasm, but yes, kind of!  Don't give up, but don't go all in!  Spend half the cap money now and save some for 2020 when we see what young players step up (Edmunds, Wallace, Phillips, Foster, etc), which players don't,  and what our true needs are.  And maybe trade back in one of the top rounds for an extra pick or two in 2020 in case Josh Allen isn't working out by the end of next year and we need to draft another QB.   Get Josh Allen some O-linemen and WRs but if the rest of the team isn't ready and we go 5-11 again next year so be it.

If they go all-in on free agency in 2019 and Allen isn't the right QB or Beane isn't the right GM, then instead of being 1-3 years away again we'll be 4-5 years away again with no QB and bad free agent contracts we need to dump so that we can begin the process again of starting from scratch.

When they gutted last year's playoff team for this youth movement they promised us an eventual dynasty.  They better not blow it now because they tried to rebuild too fast.  We're likely not going to be that competitive next year anyway.

There it is, the excuses for being bad next year have already started. Got news for you McClown won't be here after next year if this team doesn't produce.

I think how competitive we will be next year (and the years that follow) will depend in large part on whether and how much Allen develops.  He is still raw in many aspects of his game, so it may not be reasonable to expect that the Bills will be competitive (i.e., in the hunt for a playoff spot) next year, particularly since they also have a lot of holes to fill.
