26CornerBlitz Posted December 28, 2018 Author Posted December 28, 2018 (edited) NFLPickwatch - Every Pick from Every NFL Expert NFL Week 17 Game Picks By Elliot Harrison - NFL.com Analyst Buffalo Bills 25, Miami Dolphins 13 1 p.m. ET (CBS) | New Era Field (Orchard Park, N.Y.) If you thought the offensive display last week in Miami was bad, wait until the Bills come to town. One week after facing the Jags' 30th-ranked scoring offense, the Dolphins' defense will see the league's No. 31 attack. Buffalo's offense has been stuck in neutral -- mired in neutral -- all year. The difference between these teams comes on defense, where the Bills have played more consistently overall. (You try defending short fields after Josh Allen/Derek Anderson/Nathan Peterman throws yet another ball to a waiting DB.) Buffalo's defense is no great shakes, but it is viable enough to keep the team close, giving Josh Allen the opportunity to make a big play or three (often with his legs) to steal a game. Miami owns no such weapon on offense and must get back to basics in order to get back to .500. Run. The. Rock. The Patriots piled up 273 rushing yards on Sean McDermott's front seven last week. There is no reason Adam Gase shouldn't take the same tack, even without future Hall of Famer Frank Gore. But alas, I'm seeing the emotionally backed Bills riding their home crowd to a season-ending W. NFL Picks and Predictions for Week 17 - National Football League - ESPN What's at Stake in Week 17: Predictions, Playoff Scenarios, More Dolphins (7-8) at Bills (5-10): 1 p.m. ET, CBS Point Spread: BUF -4.5 | Matchup quality: 16.9 (of 100) Cameron Wolfe's pick: Adam Gase's message this week has been "8-8 sounds a lot better than 7-9." We'll see if his team buys it and shows up in a rather meaningless game in wintry Buffalo. The Dolphins are 1-5 over their past six contests in Buffalo. Josh Allen chewed up the Dolphins' defense on the ground in the first meeting of the season, and it's tough to expect much different this time. Bills 23, Dolphins 17 Mike Rodak's pick: The Dolphins are 1-6 on the road this season and have been outscored by 98 points away from Hard Rock Stadium, second worst in the NFL behind only the Cardinals. The Bills are 3-2 when Josh Allen has started at New Era Field. Advantage, Buffalo. Bills 24, Dolphins 21 What's at stake: Both teams are eliminated from the playoffs. -- Seifert FPI win projection: BUF, 67.3 percent. Though Josh Allen is looking to become the first player in Bills history to lead the team in both passing and rushing yards in a season, it hasn't been reflected in his Total QBR or the Bills' offensive efficiency. Allen ranks 28th among qualified QBs in Total QBR, and the Bills rank second worst in offensive efficiency this season, according to FPI. Woodson Sees 'Motivated Dolphins' Winning in Buffalo (0:32) Darren Woodson and Tedy Bruschi see different outcomes for the Dolphins-Bills matchup. NFL Picks - Against the Spread - Week 17 NFL Picks - Straight Up - Week 17 PFT’s Week 17 Picks Dolphins at Bills MDS’s take: Like many of the early Sunday kickoffs, this is a meaningless game for both teams. I think the Bills will be more motivated to win at home in their finale. MDS’s pick: Bills 24, Dolphins 20. Florio’s take: The glass is half full for the Bills. The glass is about to get smashed for the Dolphins. Florio’s pick: Bills 20, Dolphins 14. hemma Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 The D will be looking for a shutout. That would be a fun result.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 12-28: Dion Dawkins with Howard and Sal on WGR (9:24) #Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins joins Howard and Sal next on WGR! Tune in: Dawkins - I see so much of a championship team with what's going on here. Josh Allen is our quarterback and our leader here. Our offensive line is young and getting better. (1/2) #Bills Dawkins - We have so many other young pieces that we are building around. We're becoming a fmaily here, and once we all get one the same page, it will be something special. #Bills (2/2) Dawkins - Allen has put us on his shoulders and he keeps pushing. He's taken over games for us, and that's just his mindset in games. #Bills Dawkins - When we see our quarterback playing as hard as he has, it makes us want to play that much harder. #Bills Dawkins - I'm definitely going to go harder than I ever have this offseason to be better than this season. I will definitely go hit up Richie Incognito and Eric Wood. #Bills
26CornerBlitz Posted December 29, 2018 Author Posted December 29, 2018 DOLPHINS (7-8) AT BILLS (5-10) The Bills should come in with at least half a dozen deep shot plays designed specifically to attack zone coverage. It would be a shock if the Dolphins played any man-to-man given how Josh Allen killed them here with scrambles in Week 13.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 The season goes so fast and the offseason is so slow. That’s why I hate just writing off entire years. Sucks that it’s over but it was nice to see some young development. We certainly have a QB situation that will be, at worst on hold for a bit. That’s better then it normally is. We found a solid WR out of relatively nowhere. Also McKenzie was a nice wrinkle. Probably also found 2 rookie Corners that can start for us for a while. The learning year for Edmunds is out of the way. Milano continued to grow. Shaq Lawson came into his own when given a chance to actually play. Croom was a nice unexpected find. It’s not a total lost year but certainly doesn’t feel anything like last year. Hopefully Allen goes out with 300+ and multiple TD passes and leaves us on a high note going into hibernation. 4
