My boss' resolution with his wife was to only drink 50% of the days in 2019.....joked about the app they have for it, shows your percentage of days drinking.

For me, its someone who "needs" to smoke before normal things like social events and gatherings.

This is key to the definition IMO.  If you can’t wait until the end of your day to get stoned, when you have no responsibilities and are able to kick back, you MIGHT be a redneck.  I mean a pot head.

I don’t need to do it before social events. It just helps me deal with the idiots.

I’m no mathemagician, but that seems to be what a lot of folks are saying here.  Let’s not assign a clinical label to someone who smokes pot regularly.  Marijuana addict would be harsh.  Just put “head” behind anything to form a compound word which innocuously, yet inadequately, describes the person.

It’s fun.  Try it out...

A pot head is someone who structures his day around doing nothing more than lighting up.

I used to be addicted to smoking regular cigarettes, and after a while I realized that the simple act of smoking was often at the core of my day (aside from working).   That's when I realized I needed to quit and did so.

I smoked about a pack a day.  Not a ton compared to some, but still enough to making "smoking a cigarette" the central focus of my down time...just sitting around smoking every 30 minutes or so.
