I can't bring myself to question McDermott and Beane any more when it comes to scrap heap and no-name free agent signings.

I DID notice that the Rams waived Pharoah Cooper, who was a 1st team All-Pro kick returner in 2017. Can't help but think that signing him and stashing him for next year would be a great boost to our special teams.

Yes. This is what’s behind this signing. We’re terrible in both the Punt & KO Return game -and have been 2 seasons going. IF we can find a ‘Roscoe Parrish’ stashed on some teams’ PS, it’s one less off season need.

I am leary of little return guys though. They're the easiest to strip the ball away from..

People acting this guy will be returning kicks are funny.  They signed that other dude a couple weeks ago.  He was active and didn't get one kick even when Isiah was hurt.

Now you funny too.

Everybody funny!

I am trying to figure out why we would not want Pharoh.....who frankly has shown flashes

?

I dont agree with that at all

I don't agree that he doesn't have a knack for it but he's developing a more prominent role on offense. Probably worth it to have somebody else returning kicks so he can focus on WR and we can see what we have.

His nick name is ‘Quick 6’  Love it!

But he only ran a 4.54 40 yard at the combine. Maybe he was injured? He looks a lot faster than that.

Agreed - saw the combine time and thought “what the” - does not seem to match games speed at all.

If he hit a legit 22.5 MPH in a game in pads - he can fly.

Hopefully he'll return kicks instead of McKenzie who has no knack for it.

McKenzie was available because of serious ball security issues and after putting the ball on the turf a couple times(once lost and once ruled down) on special teams he seems to basically just be trying to catch the ball and secure it.

He might lack the long speed to be great at it anyway but regardless, you are right he's not good at it........he's just a "punt catcher" now.

His play as a receiver has been a big surprise but at his size it's hard to envision him sticking for too long if he can't return kicks..........."slot receiver only" is not a very secure job in the NFL.

He's better than Chris Watson! Ha

I recognize this but can't remember where.  Wasn't it part of a song?

How many people used to scoff at these signing and now find themselves reading everything they can about these guys?

To those that want big guys, speed kills and suits Allen's game better. I think they'll find a big target in the offseason, but it's clear they're prioritizing speed at the position. I like it.

theres some in the draft (big speedy guys)

I like Pharoh Cooper.  He was a star at U. of South Carolina.  I did some grad school at USC and follow them.  Our full back went there too.  It would be a good pickup.  He didn't play much for the Rams due to injury.  Somebody will snag him.  Why not the Bills?

Ex Gamecocks suck Cooper, Dimarco,Gilmore shall I name more? As a matter of fact the whole Gamecock football program s never won squat....But now you ll tell me how great they were under Spurrier? Theyve never won anything except one SEC East title to then get blown out by Cam Newton and Auburn.....Tell me what did DiMarco ever do at Carolina...What did Cooper ever do? Wasted a 1st round pick on Gilmore the man when in Buffalo couldnt cover a dead man with a sheet....

What does this say about Ray Ray?  Short fastish guy.  Even after dumping our 2 top guys he can't get on the field.  We're signing other schmuck short fastish guys.

He seems to be the guy most likely to be gone.  With Murphy to IR they need a Rb.  They find one Mcloud is out imo.

Bo Levi! ?

Guess he's ready to make the jump.

........and a Duke Williams sighting.........seems too slow for the direction of this WR corps.
